Just curious, is PF causing much buzz among FB fans in other countries?

I can't speak for the rest of Europe, but as a dutchman I'm looking forward to Pacific Fighters. In fact, I already ordered it.

i'm going to buy because of the change of scenery and a few new planes, however i'm looking foreward to BoB more

Mhmm... why are the europeans not buzzing?
2 possible reasons (dont take it to serious):

1.) European flight-sims followed the product-line since IL-2, PF is "just" the next step after FB was made. So no reason to run around in circles and scream. Maybe IL2 was not so popular in US as PF will be (since Eastern front == no direct US participation), but for european simmers is PF a step away from the interesting TOs http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
(many Forgotten Battles remain: Med.Sea (+Africa), Spanish Civil War, etc)

2.) LucasArts 1942, 1942 PAW, CFS2, etc.pp.
There had been "few" PTO-sims out before, so its not something completly new (compared to IL2, which really was something fresh).
And to be honest: pacific is not *that* interesting, its mainly water.

BUT: of course I'll buy PF as soon as it is available in the stores http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Looking forward to fighting and flying over the big blue ocean, from my Seafire of course http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

I'll order it a week or two before the release date from Play.com... they have a nice habit of sometimes shipping things a few days early.

Look Noobie, we already told you, we don't have the Patch!

Of the guys I play co-op with none of them are from the US, mostly the EU and Canada...and there all gonna get it! Theres still some US guys though who I play other games with who are going to get this and IL2:FB+Aces.

Should be a windfall for Ubi/1C:Maddox.

Any simmer worth his joystick will get PF.. even if they arent fans of the PTO. I picked up IL2 once I got a rig that would run it because by then i was a die hard simmer and I needed something better than what I had and since I was able to run IL2 I got it and havent looked back since. This franchise is like a field of dreams..... Build it and they will come.

Canadian...excited about PF.

European interest should be high since there are Dutch campaigns, RAF, FAA, and RAAF (European colony anyways) involvement. Its not just limited to the USN vs the JN. First time I think any sim has done a Rangoon map.

Norwegian -> excited as hell.

I'm no fan of any particular theatre, before IL-2 it went like this:

Europe, cool! Then after a year it gets boring.

Pacific, cool! Then after a year it gets boring.

Europe, cool! etc...

Russia??! But oh my, the graphics...the phyiscs...

The rest is history. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

New stuff is good stuff, when BoB comes around it's not the theatre or the planes that are interesting, it's the graphics and phyiscs.

Argentina = interest
My hole squad is going to get it.
Not so much becouse of the Theater but carriers and med bombers to ad to our FB world http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif.
More variation in theaters and missions.

This is an interesting question, as the underlying logic says that only Germans and Russians would be interested in Il*2: Forgotten battles. Especially since just like FB isn't only the USSR and Germany, Pacific Fighters has more nations represented than just the US and Japan

I`m speaking for my self as Dutchman.
I`m only intrested if there are flyable bombers in it and i hope that in the future , there will be more flyable aircrafts in it ahter than fighters.
I get a trill if i escape from fighter atacks and bomb my targets or transport duty`s.
In the past we diht it in CFS1 wiht download c47 , Mossie , Ju88 , B-17 , B-24 etz etz.
I like DF for 5 min buht my favorit game play is and will be compleet campains/sim wiht all sort of flyable stuff in it not only turning and shooting (DF).
So i hope Oleg dont repeat the same missteake as in Il2.
My SQD is a bomber SQD and i know the like to play wiht flyable bombers , transport , seaplane`s etz etz to.
We are from NL , Ger , GB , Can and the US.

What Bearcat said.

Personally, I'm Canadian and utterly twitching with excitement. My girlfriend, however, is not.

Brazilian here, getting the game ASAP.

Started simming in 1942 PAW, online gaming in CFS2, so I can´t wait to be back to my hellcat...

However, I won´t forget AEP. Eastern front was the real deal, and I´m gonna stick arround for awhile.
