I just wanted to say how pleased I am with the War Cloud servers. I have plyed them the last two days and in my opinion, the format that they use there makes the game most enjoyable. What I really like is the restriction on plane sets that are historically accurate. In most servers I can fly German in a Yak or Russian in a 109. I think this really detracts from the game, and I was beginning to lose interest. Also I have never been a fan of cockpits but after playing on this server I have trully developed an appreciation of cockpits with no external views. Dogfights are much more enjoybable and l like the element of suprise that you get without the Wonderwoman views. So whoever is running thses servers - keep up the good work!

Download TeamSpeak and use the comms that are available. When others are using it the game becomes uberfun.

Warclouds servers are a nice change of pace from the usual point-hero servers.

Get the files for TeamSpeak2 here: www.teamspeak.org (http://www.teamspeak.org) And yes, you only need a mic.

Its in the mission briefing.

RJNewly,

No, you don't 'need' a microphone.

If you tell people in the game (text chat) that you can hear but have no mic, they'll usually work around your limitation. Make sure you have your nav/landing lights mapped so you can respond with those if need be.

Great idea. You can learn a lot by just listening to other pilots. Look forward to seeing you on there soon.

S~

Glad you are enjoying the servers. Finding settings everyone enjoys is a hard thing to do. But i think the current settings, maps, and icons are a good mix that everyone should enjoy it. Stay tuned for more missions coming.

What I really like is that with no radar pointing to me, I can (sometimes) jink my way out of an attack, and escape an enemy, providing I can get out of the way of their windscreen. I think that this is very realistic, and would never happen with externals and/or cockpit off.

Love those servers http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Sparx, great job!

Since you turned off externals on both your servers, the gameplay has been much better, and as you can tell by the number of pilots that visit daily, the servers are even more popular than before!

The TOH server is my favorite, but I would love to see just a couple more maps, maybe that mountain map and the Finnish looking map with some Spitfarters to shoot at. That might even bring more interest as there have been a few people wanting to fly the Spit, but are currently not able with your map set.

The bad thing about AEP is that there are just so many fun planes to fly, it's hard to know when and where to start.. hehe!

Oh, BTW, the P38 vs Zero map is a blast, but adding a Ki-84A would be great. As it stands, the P38 guys can dictate when and where to fight without recourse, but adding in a faster Ki would make them look up once in a while too...

But hats off to you, you have taken the void caused by the lack of GreaterGreen and cornered the market. I cant wait for the dedicated server patch, as it will only add to the fun of flying on your servers! I simply cant get enough!

Do you plan to allow the use of padlock to the users that dont have trackIR ?

I would hope not as TrackIR doesn't notify you when a bandit is near...like padlock does.

Padlock does not help one bit if a bandit is behind you. Further it is possible to limit padlock range to a kilometer or less. Would help myself a lot without track IR.

Have to agree though, the server became immense fun with those more realistic planesets. Way to go http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Never discuss with stupid people.
They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I too have been spending alot of time there lately. The settings suit me fine with one exception. Icons, would it be possible to display the friendly players names? Leave the rest of the settings alone like the visible range and just plane type for enemies.
