Even I got addicted to it. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif Withdrawal symptoms were hard, but didn't last long. Best of all we don't need horizontal stabilizer anymore in fighters because we can now get level flight with the elevator trim (thanks!).

Funny how with the releace of the "Patch~51" (lets be honest) you hear screams about max speed testing for P~51 is now too hard without the stabilizer. FM testing is not supposed to be easy. Hopefully the lack of stabilzer will seperate the real testers from the Full Real....(insult Deleted with or without comment)...you know, the ones who don't give altitude information with their data.

Trim works better than stabilizer and is how real life test pilots do it. This is Awsum!

Maybe the wide range of values initially reported for P~51 max level speed is because even the Pro FM Debaters are now learning to test without the stabilizer. Even Rush Limbaugh got addicted to drugs. It can happen to anybody, even the Pros. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

The biggest problem for the Mustang and level flight is the fact it is missing it's aileron trim. But I have to disagree for one regard only as far as Level Stabilzer is concerned. Many a times on a long escort mission it allowed me to releave myself without a worry, really the only thing I used it for. Now I just squirm in my chair until I either buy a real Pilot relief set-up(that would be entirely pathetic, funny though /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif ) or when we get the aileron trim for the Mustang. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

Pause

You can use the Pause Game control to take a break. I forgot the default key, I have mine mapped the Pause button on the keyboard, don't know if that was the default or not.

The pause button would be great, however, on long online co-ops, it doesn't work...the level stabilizer should be returned to the game, it doesn't hurt anyone, and the option should be there...especially for the times nature calls.

Yep I fly almost exclusively online, so pause is no good for me. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Doh! Of course I forgot Pause don't work onwhine. Trim for level flight, it works now.

Was reading a Finnish pilot's story of flying Fb109 over the Kronstadt island fortress on our Finland map and they were known to relieve themselves on the Russians below. Apparently there was relief equipment in the cockpit. Just an idea for the Full Real set.

Unfortunately for me as I fly the P-51, level flight trim is a notion rather reality. We are missing aileron trim, and I would never trust just having my rudder and elevator trimmed. I know it will be fixed, so I am not worried, I have noticed that most other planes including the P-47 trim very well and have all adjustments. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Yes, you can "hold it" for just a little longer. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif I find once trimmed I am in good shape for a *quick* break. I would imagine the more worrisome issue is not getting Pounced in the bathroom and, worse, seeing somebody post the screenshot here, at the ubi. Okay, if Level stabilizer protects one from The Pounce, fine.

Gentlemen, before I enter an online session I prepare myself mentally (I meditate for 4 hours) as well as physically - that includes a visit to the room that is highly modified for this kind of activity. I have a very strict diet consisting of rice & boiled vegetables - no alcohol, coffee or any artificial drugs are allowed - only herbal tea - that is to avoid dehydration. This is what my personal mentor & guru Simbhadhurhukhlah Makhaharkharhoni has adviced to overcome the trauma of losing the Level Stabilizer. Hope this will help. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Btw - wasn't the auto leveler only present in the bombers in real life? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Some FW190s (either F or G or both I forget) had autopilot equipment, though i'm not sure what, exactly, it did, nor have I tested to see if autolevel works in F8.

Removing the option of horizontal auto pilot makes no sense. No amount of trim futzing around (I do) can make any aircraft fly level for long distances at 8X....Plus it was an OPTION so if you don't like it you don't have to use it....but don't take its use away from those who like to fly the long distances (that are not the normal auto pilot route) without having to sit doing nothing but trying to keep the aircraft from crashing.....and forget answering the phone..doing a head break or getting a cold beer.

Yeah, big thanks to the nerd who rammed this idea through. Now end up dead every time you minimize to run your comms program on line with multiple teams on a coop server. Thanks a whole lot. NOT!

heh, thanks alot Oleg. I hope the expansion pack will come with a relief tube button instead of the stabilizer?

I LOVED the stabilizer. Perfect for when you needed to go take a leak. Trim don't work well enough, or fast enough for it to be effective for temp. use.

Bring the stabiliser back or let us use autopilot, please.

Real pilots do not have their wives telling them to pay attention while they show you their new shoes. Nor do they have to contend with requests to carry in the shopping, or answer the phone every five minutes, or any of the umpteen different things that we all get interupted with.

Most of us are going to get very annoyed of waiting 15 minutes for a game to start, 5 minutes for everyone to choose their planes, and another 15 minutes flying towards the action, just to be called away for a couple of minutes and end up eating dirt while we are away from the screen.

I play 'full real', but jeez, being infront of the screen the entire time is too demanding; real life does not permit it.

Antifreeze hit the nail on the head. It may not have been in real planes in real life, but neither were nagging wives, mothers, sisters, etc asking you to help them do things, as well as that infamous phone. You could leave those behind in the real plane, in this game they unfortunatly go with you everywhere you fly!

Bring back level stabalizer!

I think you're all wrong about wanting the inflatable co-pilot in the glovebox but you think the same of me so I won't bother with reasons.

Lets have a beer and forget our troubles.

Bah...and you call yourself a sim pilot? Long flights, are where it's at. Perhaps you should find something less time consuming, like tiddlywinks.
