STATEMENT
No offense; nor do I hold a biased opionion or prejudice against this decent Korean car manufacturer.

I hope to hear people's voices, people who know what KIA("Killed In Action") stands for. As a matter of fact, I doubt many car enthusiasts actually know this military acronym.

I hope the mod will not lock it up with the reason that "Unrelevent with airplane for pete's sake" etc.. You know, KIA could have been an airplane manufacturer if faith allows. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif I'll be surprised if this one last's.

I didn't vote. Sorry, but I'm a realist. I will say this, they are making some nice looking cars now and if they hold up...the price can't be beat.

Hm... I thought KIA stands for Korean Automobile Industry...

Prejudice or not, I'd never buy KIA or Hyundai. One never knows, but if I get to choose I'd go German or Japanese. BMW or Honda.

Jasko

I have refrained from revising my poll choices. lol.

I was not intended to talk crap about anyone, any company. I am just interested in people's reaction to the term KIA being a car brand and meanwhile suggests death.

TO exagerate a little bit, will you buy an airplane named "Crash No.1" or a boad labeled "TBS-2"(To Be Sunk-2)

I never thought of it that way, but I never thought of it as K.I.A before, it's "Keeya" isn't it?

This is the strangest question I have ever heard. You have to be really superstitious to think this.

The original name for Honda Jazz was Honda Fitta until they found out that it was a slang word for the female genitals in swedish!

Lol, reminds me of a Fiat (?) that had a name that meant "won't go" in Italian or Spanish?

Also, if you have read Gridlock by Ben Elton, the unforgettable Crappe (pronounced cra-pae, honest!! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif)

Of course, you do realise that`ll never be able to look at a KIA anymore without thinking, `Killed in Action`. Thankfully, I would never have bought it anyway. Girlie car anyway.

oh no, now I`ll never buy a FORD! But PBNA-BOOSHER has shown that you can make up anything from a car name. So the KIA thing is silly.

I guess Nova is latin for "New", or "Nouveau/Nouvelle" en francais...... if you guys split'em up, it looks quite funny indeed.

Imagine "Novalogic" and don't look at me, I ain't say nothin'! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Some of the names that sound really cool & sexy just loose a lot of flavor in translation even if it doesn't become something negative suck as No Go.

For instance "" Say, nice new El Camino.""as opposed to "" Say, nice new The Truck or Heavy Wagon ""

Hey, KIA cars arn't that bad. Then again, I do live in South Korea where 99.9% of the cars on the roads are Korean, so maybe I can't compare. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Mitsubishi Pajero terrain vehicle must be popular in Spain. Pajero = Jerk off in spanish.

Or so I've heard...

I will happily walk under ladders, across the paths of black cats, and break mirrors whenever it suits me and not give it a second thought. Friday the 13th? Just another day to me.

But I will probably never, ever buy a KIA http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
