View Full Version : [Request] Replay trails also for simple exploring

Maybe the devs can also allow creating replay trails for the normal hiking, not just triggered events. Say a maximum length 30mins or so if memory is an issue.
I want to conquer all dropzones in the game by hiking there + paragliding/skiing without the binoculars and exploration trails would be perfect to share later on.
Like in 1 year, there will be a thread '100 best routes to mont blanc summit in Steep'. Ya know, like them books with '100 routes on the Eiger' and stuff.

Like the Mont Blanc 100 Finest Routes by Gaston Rebuffat. No excuse for not having that book in your collection.

Oh man, if that is the Grand Couloir I skied, it may just be the most petrifying thing I've done on skis.. after that first day's snowploughing of course :p

Conquer all dropzones in the game by hiking there (+ skiing/snowboarding)? Challenge accepted! I love the idea.

Conquering all Dropzones may be an event similar to Redbull X-Alps.. I am sure the Ubi Devs know the event. It is like chess in the mountains. You need to reach Monaco starting from Salzburg, passing several checkpoints in the Alps in the progress (eg Matterhorn peak). You only have your legs and a paraglider and nothing else, so decision making is crucial (watching the weather, better to hike up there and glide, or walk a bit more and then glide there with the better looking features, or,or,or).
In Steep I can envision such an event by having to cross the map with checkpoints on Matterhorn, Monte Verde or so. You start from one end of the map in the flat region and go to the other end. You need to pass all checkpoints. If you G-force out, game over. Hiking, Skiing, Snowboarding always allowed. Paraglider you can pull only once or twice to avoid just gliding all the way. No wingsuits. Those incredients should make some interesting planning and nail biting gameplay. Especially that 'dying' by G-forcing out is not allowed. So you can not just jump off the Eiger, hit ground after 1 min falling, ragdoll a bit and go on. In the end, your trail is showing where you walked, skied and so on. And the time is taken as well. Like in Redbull X-Alps live trakcing.

Here is a nice Redbull X-Alps video

Wow Trials, that X-Alps thing is extraordinary. I would LOVE to try that.

Hooold on a sec! I just checked the route of the X-Alps 2015 because I remembered it went quite west last year.

Redbull X-Alps 2015 - Turnpoint 9 - Annecy !!!

Ubisoft Annecy, the developers of Steep, please do the Turnpoint thing as events in Steep!
