Demo: Can I transfer my demo characters to the full game?

No. You need to start from the scratch and enjoy the fun to free Anteria, once you start playing the full game. But you can enjoy the demo version (http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/1486251) as often as you like.

Playtime: How long is the Campaign?

As usual, the total play time depends on each players experience, skills and the chosen difficulty level. Developer play-throughs showed that an average gamer needs around 20 hours to finish CoA in normal mode. The game comes with 4 difficulty levels and on top, you can activate the “Ironman Mode” (in each difficulty level) for a bigger challenge. Ironman mode disables manual saving, keeping always a record of the last action you took.

Difficulties: What about difficulty levels?

The game comes with 4 difficulty levels: Easy, Normal, Hard and Extreme. The Extreme mode must be achieved.
On top, you can activate the “Ironman Mode” (in each difficulty level) for a bigger challenge. Ironman mode disables manual saving, keeping always a record of the last action you took.

Game modes: Can you share anything about different game modes? Endless mode or 4-5 Hours game?

It’s a story driven game which offers a lot of player choices on what to do next.
The game has a campaign mode. You can choose between different difficulty levels.
On top, you can play each difficulty level in “ironman mode” where save games won’t save your life ;)

Multiplayer: Will the game have multiplayer?

CoA is designed as a pure single player game. A key feature is the Active Pause Mode which is very helpful to react to new situations in order to adopt your tactics. This would not work well in a multiplayer environment as the participants will pause and interrupt each others game play. Additionally, being a single player game allowed us to create a rich and very personal story.

Coop: Is this going to be coop?

No. The game will be a single player experience only.
But you can compare your progress and successes via achievements on Uplay and Steam.

Versions: What is the difference between the digital and retail version (retail = AU/DE only)?

The retail version has the same content as the digital version.

Payment: Will there be an in-game cash shop?

CoA is a PC game which will be available via digital stores, such as Uplay and Steam.
There are no micro transactions.

Elements: Why are there 5 elements, but only 3 factions - isn’t that enough?

Every faction has a huge roster of units (around 20 unique characters per faction). These units have a tendency depending on the faction, but are never just one element. For example, the Frostbeards are mainly Water element, but also have many units that are Fire or Lightning.

Map: Is the world map generated randomly?

The world map layout always stays the same whereas the missions assigned to each sector are chosen randomly every time you select one. This randomization takes into account the situation (attack, defense, neutral), environment, and faction that occupies the sector. As a result, you can play the game many times and will experience a lot of different situations even though acting in the same sector.

Losing: Can I lose? Can my home town get destroyed?

Enemy factions may take all other territories, but your home base can never be attacked!

Dying: What happens if I lose a mission? Do my champions die?

Don’t worry, your Champions never die! They only get knocked out and need to rest for one day (a turn in the world map).
After that, they will be ready and willing to try again!

If you lose a mission you will not receive rewards at the end or lose a sector to an enemy faction.

XP: What happens if I keep focus on the same Champs all the time? Will the others fall behind in levels?

There are no experience points in our game! You are free to bring your favorites, or the strongest champions for a mission as you see fit. All champions grow in levels whenever your town does as well. Build on!

Crafting: How many craftable items are in the game?

You can craft more than 100 different items in the full game: Armor, weapons, potions & devices.

Queueing Abilites: How can I queue abilities for my champions during the fights?

There are 3 options of how a player can queue up commands for his champions:

Manual - Default - The queue is completely manual, players have to press SHIFT to queue up an ability. Simply giving a command (without having SHIFT pressed) resets all the actions in the queue and queues up the newly given command. This applies to both paused and real time modes.

Auto - The queue is completely automatic. Any action that the player gives to his champions are queued one after the other. If the queue is full the player can’t issue more commands. Pressing the “empty queue button” on the UI - hotkey “S” will reset the queue. Also using SHIFT will reset the queue. This applies to both paused and real time modes.

Pause - The queue is automatic (similar to the Auto option) when the game is paused. The actions that the player while the game is paused are queued one after the other. In real time however, the queue works as for the Manual option, players have to press SHIFT to queue up an action.

Players can switch between these options from the “Options>>Gameplay” menu.

Steam: I bought the game via Steam but after I start it I need to enter a key in Uplay. How can I solve this issue?

In order to solve the issue you need to start Steam and Uplay as an administrator. In windows, if the shortcuts are on your desktop, you need to use the "left shift" + "right mouse button" to choose "Start as an administrator". If you always want to start the application as an administrator you need to right click on the shortcut "Settings" -> Compability" -> "Start application as an administrator"
