Welcome to FBAA where people care and listen. This is a free service, so do not hesitate to take advantage of this wonderful program.

This is the second session of FBAA, while the first session had gone quit well, new issues have come up.

The first issue we will look at is AEP. This is a very addictive software, adding more intensity to the game while also increasing the level of psychological probloms.

Some of these probloms include addiction, schizophrenia and paranoia. Obviously the bigest problom is addiction but it can lead to more seriouse probloms if not treated.

Session is now commencing.

High, my name is Shane and i have issues. I can now leave my house but i still get the shakes and cold sweats when away from AEP.

Since AEP has come out i have been haveing some new issues. One problom i have is driving. I can't stand anyone on my six...i mean behind me. Twise now i have cuased two serious accidents while trying to shake the enemy car i mean... i don't know anymore, just don't know http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

I have been thinking of strapping on 6 50cal mg's to my grandam, so far i have been able to stop my self from doing so.

Ok, someone els's turn.

I'm Chris and I have to be up at 5 am to go to work, but I checked the boards because of some stuff on the mission builders forum. It's almost 11 pm here. I ate lunch and did my bills in front of my PC this afternoon while checking out the boards and messing with skins.

I am a little obssessed with making some historically accurate missions right now, and I spent 3 hours today making one freaking letter on a Mustang. It was an "X". It finally looks good, on both sides of the plane. I don't have PhotoShop, I do this stuff in Paint. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/53.gif

I will go to bed in a few minutes, and I will think about the mission I am making until i go to sleep. I spent 3 hours at the bar today, reading up on the use of airpower in WWII. I also joked with the girl tending bar, so there is Hope for me yet. But I have a problem and I can admit it.

Hi, my name is Boosher, and I'm an FB addict.

Lately, I've been feeling an urge to play FB more than usual. I literally fly more than 40 hours per week, sometimes over sixty. I must find a way to stem the flow of action fun from FB to a normal usage. FB has gotten into me so deeply, I talk to aces like Erich Hartman in my sleep AND in my waking hours. I feel like I'm on a first name basis with Lilya Litvyak and Katya Budanova. Hi Lilya and Katya, hope you're out there! You see! Is my situation hopeless?

Seems i missed a problom... Obsession.

Atleast the obsession issue is cuntructive, while you have also taken an interest in the history of WW2 i would say that there are some good points about your issues's.

It may be a good idea Chuck_Older to come back here again atleast 3 times a week.

It seems Boosher bro that you and i share the Reality issue. Your issue seems quite serious, in that you actualy may not be able to determine what is real and what is not real.

I would suggest that you stop by here every day and it may be a good idea to find some kind of hobby... like an out door activity.

Hi my name is Alex, and Im a FBAEP junkie. My own daughter(2yrs) gets mad at me for not giving her attention. The same goes for my wife, I cant sleep at night, either insomnia or thinking of how I will do on Hyperlobby the next day. I cant drive because I feel I need to go faster and higher than the other cars around me, especailly at night when I cant see the bogies, I mean cars. This is my first step, admiting my problem. I hope to come out of this ok.

Well, I've stopped by here for my second time and I'm still holding basically the same problems, but bigger. My continual talking to Aces of WW2 has increased, and now I find myself talking to photographs of not only Lilya and Katya, but also other pilots, especially the female Soviet ones. (They really seem to like me) However, I have started dealing with the addiction by taking up another hobby of mine, which is writing. I have written some of my neighbors true stories up on this forum, and I am also concentrating on a biography of my friend Lilya. However, it's hard to find other sources. I'm also going to make a movie on Lilya's life as a combat pilot with FB. If you do things with your addiction, it helps it subside it seems. I also am a giant aviation addict. So looking at other things besides Lilya's portrait and trying to determine what she was thinking at the time it was taken.

Lilya, it's nothing against you, honey, but I need to find a way to express my love for IL2 FB and aviation in another way as well... Oh and by the way, I have an outside hobby, I am learning to fly the real thing, but it will never compare to my Ace friends!

(oops, you weren't supposed to hear that last bit... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/1072.gif)

but seriously though! How can you resist someone like Lilya? How can you not love a woman like that! Just look at her!

Hello, my name is Fehler,

I am attending this meeting to quiet my spouse that thinks I have a problem, and since it's either attend meetings, or pay support, I elected the free meetings.

I am a police officer by trade, but recently, I have had to resist the urge to explain proper energy management to some of my "Clients" I stop for traffic violations.

I try and inform them on the adverse affects of running their automotive engines on WEP for too long as it will not only cause damage after five minutes (Even though the 109 tech manual says 10) but will also cause them to get a traffic citation.

When they tell me that they didnt know the dive limits, err ah, speed limits, on the particular roadway, I explain that they were established by 1C and cannot be altered by a third party modeler!

Once bidding them a safe day, I replace my flight goggles, climb back into my cockpit, err ah, police cruiser, and look for more bogies, ummm, traffic violators.

I drive full real with icons off. I have also replaced the customary 10-4 to my dispatcher with "Roger that!"

I do admit that I sometimes mistake the accellerator/break pedals for rudder controls which causes me to either drive very fast, or some to an abrupt stop when all I really intended to do was turn right/left.

As you can see, I have no problem at all, but I am merely here to satisfy my wife.

Ther's a dead bug on my windshield on my truck, I am obsessed with it being the Revi. I've sideswiped 2 cars now following a vehicle and "giving them just the right amount of lead" as they go into the corner ahead of us.

To prove that I'm not addicted I have just re-installed UT2003, MechWarrior-Mercenaries, and http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/34.gif Crimson Skies http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/52.gif

It took longer to install them than it did to get bored with them. (ok I actually just wanted to see them with my new card installed)

So what! I don't care anymore. I won't stop even if i'm reduced to standing at intersections with a sign saying " Will fly your simm for food"

Now I'm going to go open FMB. Something with P-38's, rockets, and lots of tanks while I download If Loving You Is Wrong on Itunes....Heaven help me.

..............................
I always have just enough fuel to arrive at the scene of my crash.

Well Flamin Squirrel, I hate to break it to you, but I really am being serious. Lilya helps me get through track practice warmups everyday. I'm not the best runner, so she helps me run the mile, and on the last half lap, we always run it in together. When I throw the javelin, or the discus, I dunno, it always seems like the's right there making sure they fly straight and true, like she did. You know?
When I need her memory, I pull her picture up on my laptop and sit, and think. I even ask her questions, though I know she won't answer, and I ponder what she would do stuck in this situation. I would have to say, since I first read about her seven weeks ago, I can't get her off my mind. She is like a guardian angel to me, like a godmother. You guys probably think I'm joking, but when you really don't have as many friends at school as you would like to, it's comforting to know that even if you can't confide in your parents, there's always someone there who can help you with that problem, even it they can't solve it directly. (I'm a giant loner, hell, since my favorite topic has to do with war, everyone's scared of me)

I don't know how many of you were the ostracized ones in High school, but seriously, I am on my own, and whatever can help me get through this, I'll take, even if Lilya only exists to you in photographs, she's always with me in spirit.

Hi my name is Al but you can call me Al for short. Lately I've been finding AEP a little too strong so I've been mixing it with other flight sims ... FS2K2 mostly. But now there's a new concern that the problem could spread to my immediate family. My wife sat behind the home cockpit this morning and asked if I'd help her fly an IL2 again. Normally I sim alone (no doubt, most of you would frown on that) but what should a good husband do? It doesn't sound right to help your own wife become a sim addict but then she HAS brought meals into the computer room during my long flight binges.

... twitch ... twitch ... the mental image of Fehler in his cruiser wearing goggles just won't go away.

I've been able to quit cold turkey,no side affects whats so ever.I think with all my free time I might do some counsling work maybe a circut tour going round to schools and churches helping those who are right now making the same mistakes I made.Remember kids if a freind or a person you know offers you Il2 just say NO!

Hi, my name is, well, that doesn't matter, but I've been "using" Il-2 since it first came out. It was insideous, the subtle manifestations into every crevice of your...oh, oh, the humanity!

After admitting to using Il2, and not having a day without it, I tried at first only a few minutes at the time, to wean myself from "the goods". Looking for some relief, I thought maybe changing brands would change my luck.

No luck. CFS3 wouldn't even give me a buzz. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/1072.gif

The final spiraldown, like Ray Milland in Lost Weekend or some damn thing, a huge storm and 10 day power outage brought me into massive withdrawals. I sweat on the couch, thinking somehow maybe Oleg could get the Red Cross to FedEx a battery powered unit that would run on Perfect.

So the only thing to do, obviously, was to leave my girlfriend in search of a fast machine and some power. I wonder what ever happened to her?

The final indignation. After bugging SteveV too much he finally trained a dog which he used to win bets with his friends that it could beat me 4 out of 5 times. I think Steve named the dog, well I won't say just yet but I know damn well he is using that trim on a slider cheat thinger so you get the rest. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/59.gif

So to save face, Hah! I have trained...

Hello My names is JG77_GK and I am an IL-2/FB addict.
Bieng involved with a tall atheltic female Basketballer who enjoys watching the Sport as well as playing it, as well as fullfilling her role as a school teacher spending long hours writing student reports.
Meant I was quite often left to my own devices.

I started out innocently enough by purchasing a PC and exploring the internet, and I came accross a reference to a Combat Flight Simulation titled European Air War.

Thats where it all started for me, I always thought I was in control, even after starting an Online Group.
Then one day one of our members introduced me to the Hard stuff by posting screen shots of a New WW2 Air Combat Sim under developement in Russia by a guy named OLEG, it was still 12 months away from release at the time, be we all drooled over the Graphics.

It nice to have someone to look up to Boosher. It sounds as though your running the track with your labtop. Now i don't think you or Lilya would be impressed if you tripped and fell, laptop smashing to the graound.

You may even atract unwanted attention to your self while talking to your labtop... i mean Lilya. You may just want to set lilya down... i mean the labtop, before you start your run.

A: Energy is life.

Q: Prove that AB = CD. If EF,GH, are = and that angle CAB = angle CAE?
A: CTRL and E

Q: If you rolled two die, whats the probabilty that you would roll a number less then 3 or an even number?

.Hey guys... Its nice to be with fellow addicts. I'm here because of an 'incident' that happened at my house.. You see, one day some of my friends from down the street paid a visit. We decided to play a dogfight over my network. I picked a P-51D.. not just ANY Mustang.. but MY P-51.. You can see it in my sig.. The Big Texan. Its reserved for ME only. My "FRIEND" tried to fly it.. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif the following slug in the arm from me showed my disapproval. He quickly retracted and went for the Brewster 239. "Hah..," I said, "that'll never make it against The Big Texan! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/34.gif " After the quick, hasty, "I don't give a crap if I didn't use the runway!" takeoff, we come head on.

The next second my plane is burning and "The Big Texan" smashes in the ground with my bloodied body not far from the wreckage. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

My "FRIEND" flies off doing an annoying evil laugh. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/59.gif

I couldn't take it anymore.. I yelled "HOW IS IT POSSIBLE TO GET SHOT DOWN BY A PATHETIC BREWSTER?!?!?!" I punched my hand through his monitor.. smashed the joystick out the window, threw him 20 feet out the broken window and got sent to court for assault.

I had a good lawyer ($$$), and that's why I'm here and not in death row.. its good to know I'm not alone.

Hi, my name is Alexi_Alx_Anova. Stupid name I admit, but when I first started with the original IL2, I thought it was all about Russians so I wanted something that 'sounded' Russian. Back then I couldn't even take off let alone land. Back then I was a University lecturer and researcher. My life revolved around discovering the secrets of the biological world. To discover things no-one else had even known was quite an honour....I thought.

Now I sim every night instead of writing papers. I trawl through the forums every day, locked in my office, ignoring the knocks on my door from students and colleagues concerned that I didn't turn up to give a lecture (for the third time in a row). When I give tutorials I find myself giving examples of good study practices in terms of fighter techniques, "Constant revision of your subjects is essential, like checking your six every few minutes. Did you know you could broaden your knowledge by using the rudder to swing the tail?" Now I've joined a squadron and spend my nights talking to pushers using a microphone and headset. I feel my girlfriend's tolerance is diminishing now that she sees me talking to a computer screen. "What was that honney? Just a minute while I land..."

And to top it all off, I'm beginning to think I'm a crocheted monkey! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif And I have no idea where that came from.

I need help. I need perspective. I need a better name, like "JG69-KGB_II/3-StaffelWing-HitlerPropDog" or something...
