View Full Version : Cheating Notice

The couple of times I've been in an IL2FB arena I've seen the notice: "Cheating has been detected". This has occurred right after I performed some kind of action, can't remember what, though. Could this have been prompted from something I did, or tried to do while flying, or is it simply a coincidence?

Any packet loss is likely to generate this message. It may have been you or it may have been someone else on the server. It is by no means necessarily cheating, in fact in nearly all cases it's just a momentarily bad connection for one of the players on the server.

It only means that someone has a bad connection. Cheating is not a good choice of words, but it has said that from the beginning. Some servers have altered the config file to say "So and So has a terrible ping", or whatever cute thing they want it to say.

And, you can edit those messages, and many others, like the ones that announce who shot down who. Not sure which file exactly...but somebody will come along and tell you which one it is.

It is pretty pointless having this message come up at all since it comes up so many times when people most probably aren't cheating at all.

It should either be fixed or removed from the game.

Um not trying to start trouble but Ive seen some people who are cheating Tsisqua, I know that about 90% of the players are not but there are some scumbags about 10% that are cheating.

I think this message is needed, but could be changed to "Connection problems detected"

Speed Hack users most of the times are getting kicked off with timeout http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif , Depending on speedhack

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

Locust,
Yes, sir. You are correct, there is some cheating. I should have specified that usually in reference to this message, they are probably not.
