A real Pacific mission on full real would be taking off from the carrier, flying for at least an hour, joining combat, surviving an then being able to navigate back to find the carrier after another hour or so.

Here's three tries (none of which will work, note #3 is the most likely to work, however the price of the video card is slightly increased):

1: (Childish) but EVERYONE is getting one, I HAVE to have one too!!!!

2: (Sub-Adult) If you don't get me one I'll never speak to you again!

3:0 (Adult) I promise you I won't spend any extra time on the computer honey, and I'll clean the garage, and I'll take care of the kids for the WHOLE weekend, and I'll, and I'll, and I'll, I'll buy you a new car!

Nice screenshots.

I have a rig with a 3.0 P4, 800 MHz FSB mobo, 1GB fast DDRAM and a 6800GT card. It benchmarks in 3Dmark03 at between 10 - 11,000 depending on how I overclock it. So although it's not the very fastest PC out there, it must be in the fastest 20% or so.

Despite this, I still wouldn't describe the frame rates in perfect mode as particularly playable. It can run excellent at 1600 x 1200 with 4x FSAA and 4x AF at silly frame rates, but enabling perfect, even in 1024 x 768, drops it to the sort of FPS I bought all this kit to avoid in the first place. I hope PF has a lot of customisable graphics options for the water so that we can tune it to acceptable frame rates.

The greatest annoyance of excellent for me is not the water, but the "wall of fog" caused by the modest visibility distance. What I would really like to see for PF is the increased visibility distance of perfect but otherwise with the graphics available in excellent.

Regards,

RocketDog.
