awww let him ask his friggin' question...whats the harm. Unless Penguin sees this thread...then the flightless antarctic fowl will rage and rail like the maniacal murderer the pressures of modeling have made him. Or worse Ilya the table smasher will see it and the Lord of the Rubberbands will explode with wrath and sarcasm, mockery and mayhem the likes of which we have not seen in recent weeks... Man would I love to see that again just once. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/10.gif Ilya's got good mocking skills, be sure.

I'll bet dollars to donuts that the Dauntless will be flyable. Infact, I'd be shocked if any major carrier based aircraft that was present at Midway wasn't modeled.

I think there was mention that the Helldiver would possibly be AI on release depending on time...

I actually kinda like the Helldiver. Despite its flaws...but the Dauntless was a well recognized aircraft that the pilots seemed to like so flying it should be fun!

Gotta be a Dauntless. No way you can do the battle of Midway without it. We've got the Midway map for sure.

USMC flew the Dauntless from land bases as well, and I think the USAAF ordered a few of them, too.

I hope Maddox does not forget to put a turn indicator in the telescopic bomb-aimsight,
and the compass right in front of the pilots windscreen!

I mean that would be a ommision to this sim!

Are there, in fact, any sources available that update with new information about Pacific Fighters? I haven't stuck my head in here for a month or more and don't know what's new.

Cheers,
Mike

Oh yes, the SBD Dauntless for sure. The TBF Avenger is certainly going to be a flyable too. But what about the other plane in the "big three"? I'm talking about the SB2C Helldiver, the most extensively built of all Navy dive-bombers. A very valuable plane for the Navy all throughout the war, and such a great name too.
