Hey Oleg, awesome work with the new expansion.

I have a bit of a question/request:

Would it be possible to model staggered tracers for all planes, as it seems unlikely that the ground crews in real life would line up the belts of each gun in an aircraft so that tracers (and the various other shell types) were fired in perfect syncronization.

I think it'd look a lot more realistic.

Or, if I'm wrong and they did line up the belts, that's fine too. I'd like to learn a little more about their practices in that respect if that was the case.

The ones firing through the prop are syncronized, not staggered, if they were the prop would have holes through it. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/59.gif

LOL, he was refering to the loadouts in the belts being syncronized not the firing of the guns.

To answer his question. Yes, the armoror would typically start at the beginning of each belt and begin the requested/mandated loadout pattern from there. This would result in a near identical pattern for those guns syncronized to fire thru the prop with one lagging behind the other slightly. For the guns on the wings though each would would have a slightly different rate of fire and would stagger out slightly after a length of fire.

I have a suggestion for BoB, let's build an additional multiplayer-positions for "loaders", one would have to click with his/her mouse and load the ammunition in desired order to the belts, ofcourse one by one...

"It's a sh**ty job, but someone has to do it".

(Isn't this as good idea as many others in this forum?)

Thanks for the info, Cragger.

I guess what we have now is realistic, then. Although in some cases I think the perfectly synchronized tracers looks a bit weird (eg. the hurricane mkIIc).

Mave:

Yes that is a good idea.

Haha, Mave. I just realized you weren't serious.

What I was thinking, though, is that there should be a section of the loadout screen where the player can choose their own ammunition belt patterns, ie. a section where you can specify first round as HE, second as AP, and third as tracer, for example, and then have that pattern repeated throughout your belt.

Jep, not serious, but that might be fun idea for some flash-teaser-game http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
