Very nice, especially the carrier. However, the Type 95 Ha-Go light tank didn't have the wireframe antenna around the turret as opposed to the Type 97 Chi-Ha.

Looks great!

I wonder how carriers deal with the weight of the super structure and gun installations all on the right side? Do they just list to that side?

The only bright side in this update is the B-29.

Again, no news on AEP development. Quite unfortunate.

The update looks great.

Virga, carriers stayed level through distribution of weight both above and below the flightdeck. Also, as weight topside increased American naval engineers often developed torpedo bulges made of concrete and steel on the port and starboard side to maintain even trim.

Crabhart, if you were aboard the update depicted Lexington then you were born before 1942. I'm not saying you weren't just trying to clear up the difference. The Navy named an Essex class carrier Lexington (CV-16) after the update depicted Lexington (CV-2) was sunk in the battle of the Coral Sea in 1942. The Essex Lexington served as a training carrier until the early '90's (1993?) being retired as AVT-16. Many have been aboard her on "open house" days. To be accurate the update Lexington would have to have the 8" gun turrets removed. They were removed sometime right before or after Pearl Harbor and used for fixed shore batteries. She was sunk before the 5"38 cal. twin turrets could be fitted as the Saratoga (CV-3) received.

Well unless you served onboard her before or during the first half of WWII, no you haven't. The "Lady Lex" was sunk during the Battle of Coral Sea by Kate torpedo bombers...or rather the damaged they inflicted set off a chain of events where a spark ingited leaking fuel vapor and there was quite an explosion. Then she was scuttled and sunk.

You were probably on the second incarnation of the ship which I believe was an Essex class carrier...and I believe I've been on the same ship.

To all those who are complaining about the lack of AEP updates:

Can u for a minute use ur heads and think that:
-Oleg does the updates most if not always.
-Oleg and his wife have just added a new born child to their family.
-He is having a little well deserved break to enjoy this time in his life.
-Since no Oleg, No AEP. simple eh?

Come on guys...if you had a child would you give a monkey about work? Would you take time off and keep thinking about small job things?

Sometimes I think some people here are less human than the AI in Il2.

Very touching, xanty.

However, you seem to forget somethings here:

- unless he's the boss of the most useless bunch of co-workers on this planet, I think Oleg isn't the only person that can dish out dev updates for AEP

- if every man stops working for a week or two "just" because his wife gave birth, imagine how things would run on this planet. I know that a child is a veryimportant thing in a person's life, but that also goes for the job that earns the money to actually support a family. And besides, he didn't give birth, his wife did. 'nough said

- the lack of good AEP updates now goes into the third or fourth week. Now don't tell me this is also related to the new baby

- stop defending Oleg as if he's some god or your child or somethin'. First and foremost, he's just a normal human, and to me, he's paid worker. A brilliant one, no doubt, but still "just" a paid worker. And I expect him to do his job just as so many other people are also expected to do their job - no matter what!
And if he can't do somehting by himself, he can delegate some tasks to his team... unless of course a small heads-up on AEP development is already too much of an intellectual challenge for them.

So much for a little "reality check" here

What is funny is the 'if every man stops working for a week or two "just" because his wife gave birth, imagine how things would run on this planet. Only if you are a good father and husband you would take the time off. Nothing is more important than family and spending time at them at this critical moment is very important. Hopefully this poster is not a father or ever will be.

Hi all:

Yes, Mr Future has indeed shown his degree of maturity and "down to earth" mentality. I was obiously mistaken to think that Oleg may deserve a brake given the extraordinary situation. I was also wrong to think we are free individuals that are here to do more than work.

I was a fool to think there was something beyond work, and I was even more naive to think that things like having a new son, having a wife and family, having friends or having a life are the things that really matter in life...

Well, back to "reality": Progress updates and WIP information in general is not guaranteed or compulsory, by either Ubi, Oleg or 1C workers.

How is that now, Future?

http://www.silence.plus.com/xanty/stuff/fb_sig.jpg

Future-

@ KDiggity8: http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/crazy.gif I recommend you keep your bright comments to CWoS, they're of better use there.

@ Dayglow: Who gives you the right to judge me like this? You really don't know the person I am, yet you claim to make such conclusions.
Besides, where I live, you can take a day off to be with your wife when she gives birth. You can even take some of your vacation time and use that.
But if you're unable to pony up some vacation, you just might get 2 - 3 days off AT BEST. 'Cause if you don't do your job, you get fired. Simple is that. Bosses aren't much interested in your family's business, and even if they are, they need their employees back to do their work.
Also, what about the more than valid point that Oleg isn't the only person than can give out dev updates? You really wanna tell me most of 1C's staff are sitting now at Mrs. Maddox's bedside, instead of doing their jobs?

@ Xanty: "Well, back to "reality": Progress updates and WIP information in general is not guaranteed or compulsory, by either Ubi, Oleg or 1C workers.

How is that now, Future?"

It's just as true as most of the things I said.

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

Future- I making judgement on your statements. You seem to think that it should be, 'ah look at my baby, now back to work'. Oleg has decided to spend time with his family and is able to and you jump on it.

read your post again:

if every man stops working for a week or two "just" because his wife gave birth, imagine how things would run on this planet. I know that a child is a veryimportant thing in a person's life, but that also goes for the job that earns the money to actually support a family. And besides, he didn't give birth, his wife did. 'nough said

you are stating that work is more important that family. You are backwards.

If you have a slave driver boss that doesn't care about you and your family, then it is in your best interest to find a different job, as it will destroy your home life and you will lose everything, except for that poor job.

"you are stating that work is more important that family"

Wrong. I'm stating that the family is important, but doing one's job right is also.

Besides, you still seem to ignore that I also question the ability of Oleg's team to dash out a few screenshots on AEP development.
See, it's not like Oleg is the only person that knows where the "print screen" button is.

Common guys.

Anyway, great to see the Lady Lex. My grandfather served on her from 1941 to her sinking in 42. He went back as an instructor at Great Lakes (he was a corpsman) and in 1945 was assigned to another ship.

CV16, the USS Lexington. Grandpa served on two ships, both the Lexington. Freaky isn't it.

Yes, I have been down to Corpus Christi and seen the 'Gray Ghost' as the new Lexington is called.

They just made a sale with me just by showing that aircraft carrier. I have been waiting a heckuva long time for a flyable Lexington.
