I've recently discovered IL-2 after years with CFS and I've been trying to find a list of all the IL-2 related releases and add-on packs.

Anyone know where I can find a complete listing?

There are only two releases: Il-2 and FB (essentially an upgraded version of Il-2).

There are a few mission packs out there, but don't buy'em. You can download better, usermade scenarios and campaigns for free.

Welcome to Il-2. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Welcome to the best WWII combat flight sim/game on the market!

IL2 Sturmovik or IL2: Forgotten Battles? If you're going to buy FB, wait. A expansion pack is due out next month or so and will have both FB and the expansion packaged together, for some versions. On the main page of the sturmovik site, the right side is for origanal IL2. The left side is for FB.

IL2 Sturmovik
1.1a (75Mb)
1.2
in that order for basic upgrade, the 1.2ov is completely identical and compatible to the already released version 1.2 except that version 1.2ov has an open folder structure for radio chatter voice files and corresponding HUD messages

FB
1.21 (120Mb)

There are no 3rd party downloadable planes and such like CFS. It keeps the quality up, in my opinion, and the cheating down. We do get new planes with the upgrades, generally. Feel free to ask anyone here for help, most are quite friendly. Welcome to IL2.

Good hunting,

Slush might would know better than me, I never got Barbarossa. Mudmovers.com (http://www.mudmovers.com/) has some 3rd party 'enhancements' for lack of a better word. They do things like add a dynamic campaign and such. Have fun!

Don't bother with Operation Barbarossa unless you play offline. All you get is some new paint schemes, maps and campaign/missions.

If you're strictly into online play, this expansion is useless.

Welcome aboard.. check out the Sturmovik Essentials thread at the top of the board..... As far as missions go.... you can get them from many of the sites in the Essentials thread. Also check out the UQMB... it is a must. You should be kept busy by the QMB for a bit though. Dont be intimidated by the FMB eiher. It isnt as hard as it seems.

QMB=Quick Mission Builder/A way to fly 'quick missions'
FMB=Full Mission Builder/A way to create full missions with multiple objectives.
Both are availalbe on the main FB GUI after you start the game.

UQMG=Uber Quick Mission Generator. You can find it here:

http://www.uberdemon.com/

You can find "The Real Deal" here:

Mudmovers is the place for almost all your Forgotten Battles needs.
