I get a new video card for my B-day. I play IL2

Either one will rock your game. They are both excellent cards.

My personal (and subjective) feeling is that the 9800XT is a "bit" better than the FX5950.

Goto www.hardocp.com (http://www.hardocp.com) and read up some reviews of both cards. See what you like best. The Anti-Aliasing from ATI is better on the 9800XT and the DX9 performance is also a tad bit better. But neither are bad.

There both the best from the two makers.what do u have now?and what kind of monitor do u use?I went back to a CRT and that was the best upgrade I've could have made.I've got a 5950 and with the current flat panel I was useing I was not getting the visual quality that the CRT is producing.

I'm using a geforce Ti4200 and a samsung 19" monitor with dvi. All connected to HP 2.53ghz 753n p4, with 1gig ram. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/10.gif
