I don't know the appropriate word in english...

Thermieks are what you need for gliding... hang gliden. Air that rises due to a lot of sun/warmth...

Is this moddelt in FB,

I know what You mean, I don't know how it's called in English neither http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif, but I'm rather sure it's not modelled in FB

I do not believe that thermals are modeled.

No I don't think we have "thermals" in IL2 either - would be interesting, although I dunno what this would involve/whether the game engine is capable or not.

thermals is just warm air rising, the benefit is,if you fly through one(a big area, like over a meadow which has been exposed to the sun for a long time) you will get an extra lift. you will climb a lot faster/lose less altitude if you cut your engine.

this is handy in case you have to emergency land, these things'll buy you time

No they're not modelled.

before thermals, I'd like to see wind and turbulence effects (other than in thunderstorms). Dynamic clouds that the AI can't see through would also be awesome- maybe in BOB.

Would definitely suck to get hit with a microburst and drop a couple thousand feet in the blink of an eye.

But it would be intense.
