My friend Wiley has asked if its ok to use some of my art for placement in the game in place of original TGAs - I thought it was a great idea & immediately agreed : I offered the/your background images by announcing their availability and providing a link to download them from a folder on my Site. Here is the thread to my announcement. http://www.simhq.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=98;t=009599

You might go there to check 'em out & perhaps use them where you feel they fit....best! Good Luck!

Good Question- I remeber a while back there was a posting about the difference in omages on the European version of the game & the U.S.....It seems to me that there was a notice saying the main page could not be changed....

I have always loved your paintings. However I think you cropped out a lot of the interresting aspects of the paintings. Is it possible to download, hi-res versions which have not been cropped?

The cropping would have been necessary in order to have the final version meet the required 'aspect ratio' of the IL2/FB background screens/display... that is, a Width to Height ratio of 4to3 (e.g.800X600, 1600X1200,1024x768,etc)

Jim's original works are of a more 'widescreen' horizontal/landscape proportion, and roughly 4to2.2 or 4to2.4 ratio) (e.g., 1024x620, 1024X556, etc).

I agree that the original versions are much better, with more to see and more of a 'story' being told...in fact, I have a print of "Tough Day" on my wall beside my computer; it's quite beautiful....and a cropped version of the same is the background for all my Luftwaffe career/mission menu screens.

OK I understand the aspect ratio limitations. But that takes me back to my question, are there hi-res, full size versions that are downloadable so I might crop them in a different fashion?
