Bump come on dudes, share your experince of online and off line

I have actualy taken on 4 Ki-84 ace's in the QMB at 1000m to start. Only took me like 8 trys lol. but it can be done.

I would just fly strate and level and pick up as much speed as i can. Ill wate till they turn to get on my six and then once there turned around i gently go vertical. Then its BnZ all the way.

What I love doing is matching em.what I mean is I climb high, then I wait till there under me my six o clock low.Do a Hammerhead get on the six of the enemy,The rest is gun cam footage.,Keep it comin boys

once you fly with online aces for a while you can go back and fight 4 to 6 offline AI ACES at a time and win.

The AI aces are a bunch of chumps. I can out fly them even if I'm in a glider http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

See you in the fence....

I can beat 4-6 of any ace AI Plane flying a Yak3, La7, Ki84, 109K4. Usually 3 out of 4 times.

Its all about energy and tactics!

Boy you guys are good. I have beaten 4 LA7s, 109K4s, and YAk3s, but it took me many, many, many, attempts (mainly in 109G6, 190A5 and P-51s)

01-27-2004, 09:27 PM
Depends on the conditions - if you take a P-47 up against 4 La-7s at 10000m, sure you'll win.

Generally, I can't handle more than one or two.

The main thing about the ace AI is that they are sharpshooters, so you can't afford to give them an angle for even a brief time. The other thing is they go evasive with their radar without giving you much of a chance to line up a shot. Absolutely no head-ons, and just don't let them into your close rear quarter. I haven't gone on any me-versus-as-many-ace-AI Rambo sprees lately, but I'm sure I could handle a few if the planes were of comparable performance. You are talking about full hard, right? Full flight/damage model, limited ammo and no icons, map icons, externals, or cockpit off at least. That makes it harder, because you have to keep track of them all at once. If you can trick the AI into burning up their energy then you can stay away from their guns, but this is easier said than done if you are in similar planes.

Wouldn't mind seeing some tracks by you guys slaughtering multiple ace AI as if it were nothing. By that I don't mean to imply that you are not doing it, I am just curious to see it. Maybe someone would like to submit it as a community track (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=400102&f=23110283&m=128105721)?

There used to be a track floating around (recorded to demonstrate TrackIR IIRC) made by dnme showing a lone I-16 taking on 6 x 109 of some description. Very impressive. I think from memory that he went winchester just after number 5 bit the dust and succesfully evaded the last.

Sounds like a pre-patch I-16, although I don't doubt it's impressiveness! Anyone know where to find it?

Anyone feel up to recording their own track?

I also depends on what plane you give the AI and what plane you take.

With the Bf109 G2 I can take on multiple VVS plane on Ace level without much effort. (Edit: And that's all VVS planes, even LA7's or Yak3's are not a real challenge)

With a Hurricane IIc I can take on multiple Ace AI in early war planes, last time I took out 12 Brewsters on Ace level and they never even fired a shot at me because I was constantly out of their reach.

Tried once, got pretty messed up that time... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif
Im still a beginner at this game, but im finaly getting the hang of bringing down fighters http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/mockface.gif

I once got down two I-16s on ace setting (QMB), flying a Buffalo. It was hard though. The trick is never to let them have an opportunity to fire at you. Allso, in a sharp turn, they'll usually fire behind you.

Fly friendly!

The AI aces are like the "whack plays" in Madden football. Once you learn their moves it's not only a piece of cake but also boring. Even noobish to moderate online players are at least unpredictable. Good online players are the best challenge IMO.

Hello http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I don't see any of these exercises as a measure of abilities, but rather as just good methods of shooting practices http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
Online, the Human element is better than the AI, and you also have to fight the lag, crashes, team killers, accidental shooting, and map changes!.

what should the game settings of tracks be ?
I would like to try .

Thanks http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Have a track of K4 vs 4 Aces La7. One of the toughest fights i ever had. Even that i cheated with external views hehe... but everything else is FR, Limited ammo too http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

lol, At first i though it was impossible to take on 4 ace ki-84's in the QMB using the P-51. Its not impossible.

But today i was board and thought if it would be possible to take on 4 ace KI-84's using the D27 lol. It is possible. Only took 9 attemps lol, and i lived. This was done at 1000m altitude. and i dont recomend it lol.

I also saved a Track of it all http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif nut i dont know how to send it to anyone, i could e-mail it?

01-28-2004, 01:36 PM
I routinely kill 4 ace Ki-84s in the P-47, I know lots of people that can do it too. And quicker than me.

01-29-2004, 09:37 AM
I received one track so far. Why don't you guys send me your tracks? I can make a separate track section just for showing how to use AI for target practice. Send me tracks at chapman@eeh.ee.ethz.ch and I will look at them and put them on this page:

Hello http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
I asked if there are any particular in game settings which should be met ? like limited/unlimited ammo, cockpit on/off etc.

Are tracks with any settings suitable ?

01-29-2004, 12:32 PM
Yum-yum, this isn't meant as a kind of competition, use whatever you feel is suitable to demonstrate the fight. Some people viewing the track might for example understand it better if you use icons. Of course full physics (gunnery, head shake, stalls, etc.) are desirable.

Thank you for explaning michapma http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.

I know it was never intended as a competition, and I dont enter as a competitor, I just wanted to participate in seeing what is possible in offline settings.

I supply my first track http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Last night I got and viewed two tracks made from the QMB.

In one, a P-47 fought 4 Ki's and defeated them by building high speed, diving past and then going vertical. The Jap planes couldn't climb but tried and leveled off, after which the P-47 could dive back down and put its 8 .50-cals to good use. This method took a little longer than absolutely, due not to poor gunnery but rather mostly to a need for better situational awareness techniques. A good job though, it highlights the AI predictability.

The second track pits an La-7 against 2 Dora-9s at low altitude. The approach is tight horizontal turns, with which at low alt the Doras try but can't compete. Furthermore, the two planes flew close together until the La-7 was on their close rear quarter. This highlights a serious weakness of the AI of not using their aircraft's strengths, and poor team tactics. Also well done.

I got Yum-yum's track and will have a look at it tonight. Probably next week I will add a section displaying methods of offline dogfighting. Anyone can feel free to contribute, there are no restrictions in terms of settings. Even the physics can be turned off to whatever degree, just please declare whatever is turned off. I think such demonstrations can also be beneficial to those learning combat technique.

If it's okay with the authors, I may make descriptions on the website such as the ones I made above to explain what is good and bad about the fight. This is not to criticize the track author, but to help the viewers.

Heck, I have problems taking on average AI. Unless I'm in my Il2-I, in wich case I'm death on wheels.

Thank you again michapma http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I am not a pilot and I do not know the names of some manouvers, the parts of the plane, or how I fly, I only know it works http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif.

I just get myself to the right place and shoot, so I have no objections in allowing you to make good or bad descriptions because I know I will learn something http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.

This is the only game I play and it belongs to a friend.

Thats about all I do - 1 on 4 of whatever. Took me a long time to be able to survive... I almost only fly the FW190 A-5. My favorites to go against are the P51 because you just sneeze in their direction and they blow up. The Rusky planes usually beat me. I also like the P47 because its a great match for the FW.

My favorite was 1 Stuka on 4 Mustangs. Mostly luck, but I beat them all (full real, ace settings). I have a couple of screen shots of my stuka taking out mustangs. Its quite funny.

To 'get in the grove' for mission flying, I have a QMB setup as a 1 on 4 ace rusky fighter bombers. After I fly that, I'm warmed up for my 'real' missions.

hey michapma,

The only method i know of; when your in a BnZ plane is to stay higher then your openent. With D27 i found it more difficult because it dosen't manuver as nice as the P-51 and its a a little slower to at lower alt.

I guess what i was mostly doing was hammer heads; going vertical untill stalling out. If they where human i would be dead lol.

Any way i could use some help or tips. You where saying that i could use more situational awareness techniques; your right i do lol.
