Hi. I have a 3D glasses and I can't make it work in IL2 FB... in concrete that 3D glasses are this
http://www.edimensional.com/products/edglasses.htm

That web says it works with IL2 (not FB).
http://www.edimensional.com/misc/games.htm

The question: someone knows if that 3D Glasses works with IL2 FB AEP and how.

Thank You

Hi,
sorry I can't help you, only I am curious about the 3D glasses, so if you manage to make them work, please post the impressions here.
Good luck!

If you are using an Nvidia Card and matching 3D and regular drivers, it can be made to work with FB. After much tweaking and experimenting, I found that if I disabled the "Use Vertex Arrays" option in the video setup of FB, the glasses would kick on and work just fine. The only noted problem that I had was that my PC would lock every time I tried to exit the game.

I just got the glasses for my nVidia Fx5950 system and they work quite amazing...

Had to disable vsync and vertex array in FB setup, plus run the game in perfect mode to work properly

You also need the 56.72 drivers and then the 56.72 stereo drivers. Tried lower version dets and they would hard lock my system. Go to www.guru3d.com (http://www.guru3d.com) to get the drivers.

The effect is amazing! 8 out of 10 for IL-2, 10 out of 10 for LOMAC in terms of depth perception effect

Expect to get at least half your normal framerate from what I hear.

Once i was testnig this views with anaglyph glasses on my gf4, it uses the same type of render as 3d glasses( not exactly the same, but it makes the same problems) and... it dont work in aep http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif also developers dont care to repair it, yeh i know the have much more other important jobs like fm...

I'll say it again.....

The eDimensional 3D Glasses DO WORK with IL-2:AEP!

You need the following:
- A fast system with good graphics card (preferably nVidia, I heard ATI has more problems with the stereo 3D). FPS loss will be about 20-30% because of efficiency of the drivers, not 50% as some have indicated here.
- 56.72 dets, then 56.72 Stereo dets (go to www.guru3d.com (http://www.guru3d.com))
- vertex array and vsynch off in IL-2 config
- Set IL-2 to run in perfect mode

I use the glasses in conjunction with a TrackIR 3 Pro and it's currently the closest thing to virtual reality for a PC flight sim. I just need to upgrade my system yet again to better handle this new piece of kit for always running in perfect mode.

fooling around with the 56.72 stereo dets I generated a couple of Red/Blue 3D images in IL-2. With eDimensonal glasses and the effect is much better, but I was surprised that the effect is still there with the old analglyph glasses. Check these out:

P-38 cockpit looks nice, the newer cockpits seem to render better than the old ones (old ones reveal some hidden surfaces which show up in 3D), but LOMAC I think is best between the two:

The .jpg compression interferes with the effect, it's a bit better in game, but at least you should be able to see it.

Damm, then i have something messed with my 56.72 dets or other things.

Hi all,
very interesting images Rook!
My question is:
is perfect mode mandatory to make anaglyph work properly?
Thanks
Enrico

Hi rosaenrico,

So far, it seems it only works well in OpenGL and in perfect mode. It'll still run in lesser settings, but ugly things start happening like patches on the terrain and tiles in the sky which destroy the effect.

Therefore you need to be able to run this on a good system and I wouldn't recommend it online until you have a 3Ghz system. I don't have one of those http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif , so I get frame rates in the low teens sometimes...

But still, really great when combined with a TrackIR, ups the immersion factor by at least 100%
