the reason it always appear to be full is because its a bomber it has a large fuel tank for long missions, correct me if im wrong but i think the he111 has 2000 liters of fuel im not sure on that.

where as a 109 has a max of 500.

yep but that doesn't answer the question.

I usually fly at half tank depending on the distance to the target (less fuel = less weight = more speed) but the tanks both show FULL.

thats GOTTA be a bug. Esp when I've been hit in the tanks and streaming bucketloads..and still no mvmt!!

engage brain

read gauge

Note it's in Litres not %, very few guages in FB are.

3000L tankage (depending on version), 1000L show on the guage so only 25% fuel loads will show on guage. It's a bomber that could fly from Norway to Liverpool and back with room to spare it's no wonder you can't run her dry in a dogfight room...

The gauges are ALWAYS on full.

It's a bug.

Create a mission with say 50% fuel and go to
the cockpit. The gauges are on full.

It's not the only plane the fuel gauges don't
work.

The gauges work 100%.

I refer you to Hobnail's post

Russian aircraft require skill to fly.
German aircraft require ten times that skill, and one hundred times the patience!

This should be fairly easy the check. Just make a quick mission with 20, 10 or even 5% fuel, and see what happens.

Now i just need to find the indicators...

The fuel indicator probably only goes up for part of the max fuel, say 25% (although I'm not sure about the exact percentage). So anything more than 25% in your tanks will show as full on the fuel indicator.

I wondered myself if there was a bug. We did
an He111 night mission (practising with our
b25 stand in since we're a VVS squad) and my
He111 gained a fuel leak from flak. I turned
for my home base and monitored the fuel situation
and the guages seemed not to move. I wasn't
sure if this was just because the leak was
minor (I landed before running out of fuel).

The fuel gauges DO work. they do not act like a car fuel indicator (full, 1/2, etc) They show the fuel in Litres.

take a HE111 in qmb, put 25% fuel in, and go to 8x speed...your red lights will soon come on to show you are low on fuel.

the gauge shows 1000l at the top. 25% fuel is about 500l per tank.

if you take full tanks, i think you are taking about 2000l per tank..so you have to use over 1/2 of that before the gauge starts to move.
