As wind isnt apparently modelled in the sim what, if any, plans are there to model the fact that some aircraft needed all the help they could get for a succesful launch?

Not complaining or trying to put a damper on things - just trying to find out what the plans are.

I think the wind comes with any airspeed the plane may have, and the plane will be moving with ship, so we should see wind. Not sure about this, because we have never seen this before--the simple fact of a plane parked on a moving surface is Revolutionary for the FB game engine.

You've never seen wind in FB? Not even in rain/snow?

Whatever the wind direction was in the area where carriers operated they would line up so the wind blows head on to a plane taking off. Therefore no side wind needs to be modelled (however, it is modelled in FB), just gusting (which is also modelled).

Are we talking wind or turbulence?

The only time I've encountered 'wind' is the strong crosswinds in snow/rain/stormy weather. Hardly the sort of weather in which I'll be attempting carrier ops.

Would it be too difficult to brief the wind speed and direction as part of the mission brief?

Well, I know this girl that blows really hard. If we stand her at the bow of the AC...

Weather is indeed one of the weaker aspects of FB. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Imagine a Storch, run the carrier up to 30 knots, untie the plane and watch it float off the deck...or backwards even.
