Awesome! I realy like it. Great dogfighting shots. Who did the flying? Whoever he is...he is a very good pilot....especially his gunnery skills.

its realistic. but it aint as easy as it looks.

remember.. when making a movie you can choose which clips to show and which not to :P

gunnery is one of my strong points.. but lets just say i did alot of flying and track recording to get the clips the way i wanted hehe.

Realistic gunnery was set off

the cockpit might have been as well

in your last movie both of these were absolutly set off

pretty easy to do uber damadge with realistic gunnery off

gutted_
12-23-2003, 08:35 PM
i said when i made superbeast that some of the scenes did infact have the cockpit off, and i put them back on because it didn't fit well with the rest of the movie. i was thinking about yanking them out but i said wtf its just supposed to be a 'fun' movie anyway and i wasn't in the mood to go make more clips. btw, realistic gunnery was ON for that movie.

this time around i made sure to leave no doubt about the cockpit so i didn't have to see that critisism again.

shall i give you some of the actual tracks then so you can see for yourself?

sheesh.

yea it was easy to tell it was off in the first movie ... just like it is in some of the tracks tht ship with FB

i said it "might" have been off

but the realistic gunnery being off makes it SOO much more easy

It took me awhile, I kept thinking the movie was Jaws2002's avatar. I liked it, and the movie wasn't bad either http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
Seriously, nice work. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif Merry Xmas

no, cockpit was on the whole time for this one.

like i said, i did alot of playing for this movie. a weeks worth of just clowning around in the QMB and saving all my tracks. i had alot of killer shots and alot of crappy ones. just because i show all the good ones and none of the crappy ones doesn't mean realistic gunnery was off.. whats so hard to understand about that?

it was the same thing in superbeast (realistic gunnery ON). but i did have cockpit off sometimes for that one because i never intended to make a movie of those tracks until well after they were recorded. one day i said hey.. im gonna make a movie. so i grabbed all my cool stuff and threw em together with some music. most of it was cockpit stuff, and the no cockpit shots seemed odd compared to the rest of the movie so instead of having to scrap those clips.. make more.. then try to resynch the whole movie again i just re-recorded em with the cockpit ON to save myself the hassle. its the one thing i regret about that movie. superbeast was just a rushed collection of tracks i had on my hard drive, there was pratcically no thought process about it at all. and it turned out to be a fun little movie, exactly what i wanted.

i dunno why im even explaining this. anyway.. i'm done discussing it. just enjoy the movie, and maybe ill kill you in greater green or VEF sometime when im not playing world war 2 online and you can discuss no cockpit and realistic gunnery then :P

cheers.

Very slick movie, gutted_! Very nice, very aggresive, and hot DARN you can shoot! Why is it no matter what I do, my 109's always spit oil and die if anyone so much as looks at them funny? I can't keep the things flying for more than 10 seconds into the encounter! It's just me, I know, but it's easier to blame it on the plane.

1 question how did you pan so smoothly in the cockpit to follow the flaming bandit? was that trackir? or was it manipulating the recording somehow?

gutted_
12-24-2003, 02:47 PM
i wish i had TrackIR.

i used the mouse for these cockpit pans:
0:50, 1:49, 2:11, 4:06.

at 2:35, 3:57 was just a snap view with an altered speed in the conf.ini file (the same setting i play the game with actually).

at 3:38, 4:18, 4:27 i used padlock when playing the track back.

yeah, im thinking my next film will be online stuff. :P

Noticed you often have the underwing mounted 20 mm cannon in some kills. Really adds to the destructive effect of your kills. Cool http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
