Hi,

Given the choice...D-Day (June) or Flying Legends (July)?

Admittedly, it's going to be hard to gauge as there isn't a D-Day anniversary every five mins with which to compare the FL weekend to but which are you going to?

Cheers,
Norris

PS: I'll probably hang on until the Flying Legends.

Flying Legends for me. I've already bought the tickets. I think there'll be greater variation in the 'planes at Flying Legends, as it won't be restricted to the aircraft associated with D-Day (they have Eastern Front aircraft at F.L.). I read in Flypast that they're hoping to have a couple of "very special" guest aircraft imported in for the event, but aren't releasing details just in case.

I'm too excited for words...

Flakatractor - You are a jammy sod.

Norris - Just came across this thread on an aviation photography forum. The first seven pics give you an idea of what you can expect at Flying Legends...

D_Day for me,cos hopefully a couple of members of my squad will be there.also,60th anniversary show is only gonna happen once,so should be something special.FL does look tempting though!

I'd go for the d-day exibition. Flying legends happens every year and although excellent the d-day celebration is a one off.

The BoB 50th anniversary show at farnborough in 1990 was better than any airshow i've been to (mock WW2 dogfight with spits and 109's) since as it was truly a one off and I assume the d-day one will be similar at Duxford.

if i had to chose between them, id go with flying legends, its bigger, more aircraft, goes for two days, and theres less chance of rain

Hi,

Thanks for the response and the link to the pics; it all looks fantastic.

I think I'l stick with FL even though I do appreciate that DDay could be a very special one-off.

tfu_iain1: you mentioned rain; does this affect if aircraft fly/whether you can see them for cloud or is it just your tan that you are thinking of? :-)

Cheers,
Norris
