Will PF include multiple versions of the F4F?

cf. The F4F-3A had a single stage, 2 speed supercharger as compared with the F4F-3, which had a two stage supercharger.

"At the time of Pearl Harbour only USS Enterprise had a fully-equipped Wildcat squadron, VF-6 with F4F-3As."

Unless there is a significant difference in performance or flight behavior to justify including it, enough references can be found, and the cockpit is relatively similar, it'll probably be omitted for now.

As always, patches are a completely different animal. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

An FM-2 would be cool too!

The F4F-3 was significantly lighter than the -4. The -4 intorduced self-sealing tanks, more armor and a folding wing. The -3 had four .50's with 400 rounds each. The -4 had six .50's with only 250 rounds each (I think 250???). The -3 was used at the Battle of the Coral Sea by the Navy and by the Marines on Guadalcanal.

The F4F-3 was 20 mph faster than the F4F-4. The F4F-3 had a climb rate of 3,300fpm compared to 2,500 fpm for the F4F-4. The reason for the switch to the -4 was a considerable space savings on carriers due to the folding wings.

PlaneEater,

Sorry, it's actually the opposite - the more similar the sub-versions, the more likely they are to appear in the initial release http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif That makes more sense, doesn't it?

I thought this was a rather good nugget from Luthier too regarding initial release aircraft.

Oops, my mistake. Sorry boss, I'll shut up. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Does this mean you want me to work on converting the B into the A and C variants, too? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif I found someone to paint 'em.

OMG, just look at the wings http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/11.gif. Looks completely finished to me http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/88.gif

O, how I want to hold you,
To feel your breath
And hear your laughter in my ears.
To look into your eyes
And see myself in there.
Caress you with my lips.
To hold your hands in mine
And find the hidden smile in your dimple
That makes you irresistible
And stops the breathing in my chest.
To be with you when you are weeping,
To wipe away the tears and take away the sorrow.
To watch you while you are sleeping
Like there is no tomorrow.

And with a tender kiss to wake you up.
