I've read somewhere in www.Uboat.net (http://www.Uboat.net) that there were Allied destroyers that dropped buoys equipped with sonar to assist them in hunting down U-boats (this was done when a convoy was threatned by U-boats). By the way, the special buoys send the sonar data via RF signals to the destroyers.
Can anyone elaborate on this??

Would be lovely if the game includes this. Of course, it'll make a hell life for subskippers, but that's the point in the game!

If there is a DC2, could be nice to try, let's say, a Wolfpack of XXI subs agains a convoy with DC using this technology. Could help us to know the development of tactics.

Do you realize that a game like this would be good even for militar staff? Seems that nowaday's diesels sub with energy cells (that allows them to keep submerged for weeks) can defy with success countermeasures. During an exercise held some time ago in the north of Europe, a sub had to be called off, was about to stop the invasion and hence to end the exercise without land practice!

Das Panzerkunst!

Here is the link: Sonobuoys (http://www.uboat.net/allies/technical/sonobuoys.htm)

Please re-read it. Things are different than you said.

Would have heard about that (your post) before.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v325/hauitsme/gossip.gif

I see hauitsme...Them buoys (sonobuoys) were never actually used in the fight against the U-boats because they were still under development.
Thanks for the elaboration.
