Im hoping they have the common sense to add all fb/aep maps and aircraft into the pf engine and interface making them compatible.

this way they can contimue to support fb/aep as well as PF. And I certainly would pay an addition 40 for ai aircraft cockpits

maybe even two seprate packs since there are so many ai with pf and il2fb/aep

two cockpit packs fb/aep i'd pay 40 to have all flyable same with PF to have the ai become flyable down the road I'd pay an additional 40

il2 sturmovik 30 now 19
il2fb 30 now 19
il2aep 30
BOE 19
PF 30-40
Cockpit pack 1 30-40
cockpit pack 2 30-40

Im sure everyone who owns the game would buy them and it would make sense to make them then after they are made have a il2 collectors edition for sale which would be a bit cheaper for people to buy everything in one shot.

I'm with Leadspitter. I voted "mabe", only because we do not know yet what will be included with PF. If it turns out to be all seperate, then I would surely pay for the rest of the planes, as well as pits for the AI planes that we have already.

Yes! http://www.sf-fandom.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/lol2.gif Fi~156 and U~2 Flyable? -- historic pits in museums

Baby I love these positive waves so early in the morning.

We can make a deal with Oleg, you know, a Deal deal. Maybe the guy's a Republican.

heh i would love to see them flyable lexx and would be great for comms recon missions.

They could even add a side arm and pilot arm as a gun station out the window which would be fun against bi planes but might make people barf http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Ill pay 60 bucks for 100 German Planes. All periods prior to 1946

05-26-2004, 12:35 AM
Although it won't happen, I'd pay a premium, say 55-65 USD if PF was compatible with FB. I'd really like those Liberty ships for a D-Day scenario. Add a larger desert map with a couple of small cities and a Malta/Sicily map, not neccesarily historical, but with a Medeterranian look and feel and I'd be happy until BoB was released.
Heck, they could delay the release for "2 weeks" and it would be OK with me.

05-26-2004, 07:06 AM
I`d pay for constant loadouts and DM rework.

05-26-2004, 09:15 AM
I also will pay, this game is amazing

05-26-2004, 10:04 AM
It's not the money I'm concerned about - afterall look at AEP - what's the price / plane ? - It's a give-away http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif - heck I'm paying more $/month (well Euro realy) for my internet connection http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

What I am concerned about is loosing the planes / maps we already have in FB - that would be the sadest day playing Il-2 series for me http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Like I said in the poll on the PF forum:
Make it BETTER (more planes) NOT worse (less planes).

Actually most ppl want it better with less planes becuz of all the FM problems.

I hope PF doesn't kill FB before BOB comes out I need a dose of 109 online now and then and couldn't cope without it. I'm pretty confident that European servers will stick with FB when PF comes out, I hope http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif

05-26-2004, 11:02 AM
More "stuff" in the game doesn't automatically make it better.

Really you just need a few fighters, attack planes, and bombers per side. Beyond that, it is excessive.

In FB, all the new planes are just near duplicates of other ones. They don't add any new play experiences. You could delete 3/4 of the planes from FB and it would be just as fun.

Better FM, DM and graphics engine is an improvement, not bulk addition of material.

05-26-2004, 11:29 AM
I voted maybe too. I'll wait & see what is with PF first. My fear is Fb going the way of the dinosaur with PF & BoB arrival.

05-26-2004, 11:59 AM
Do you guys really want to play FB forever? I'm looking forward to new games with new planes and new fun.

05-26-2004, 12:04 PM
As much enjoyment as I've had with this sim I'd gladly pay to get more features/flyable planes.

In a year and a half of play I've spent a total of $65 for FB and ACES. (I got IL-2 as a present) In my book that's way more bang for the buck than I could have ever hoped for.

"We need more ammo!"

I would like to play FB:ACE until BoB comes out, but since PF is on it's way I, like LS and a whole bunch of players, hope they listen to reason and include all FB:ACE material so we can keep this community together.

If the guys over at Epic could make UT2004 rearwards compatible with UT2003, then why can't Luthier and team?

05-26-2004, 12:21 PM
Well, for years I paid $25 a month to fly WarBirds and Dawn of Aces, so I have no problem paying for add-ons.

Having said that, however, I want to see REAL add-ons, not the 50th variant of the Yak or the 200th variant of the Spitfire. There are so many great planes in this set that are AI-only or don't exist at all but should. So, sure, I would pay to have a Mossie or a B-26. But I won't pay for fantasy planes (I-185, P-80, etc.) that never flew in combat.

I do get amused at this "The Sky if Falling!" mentality of so many in here. I've never seen so many people afraid of anything new. This place really is a haven for neurotics who tremble at going outside their "comfort zone." A Pacific campaign isn't going to kill FB, nor is BoB going to kill them both.

In fact, just the opposite is true. If it becomes stale and same-old-same-old, folks will leave. Many of our best early community members already have. That's why I left WarBirds/Dawn of Aces and came here because this was new and different and good. But when flying a sim starts to feel like going to a job every day, I'll move on, too.

Short version: I'll gladly pay for more historically correct planes, more maps, more campaigns if it keeps adding new dimensions to the sim. Free or paid, if those additions aren't made, I'll get bored and find something newer and better.

I agree with a couple of other posters here too. Having endless planes without expanding the gameplay experience is not the way to develop this series.

Would have preferred a more robust IL-2 Eastern Front game up until now, with the "perfection" (whatever that is!) of existing planes, including more flyables, historical maps, and even more gameplay innovations (i.e., online campaign, etc).

OK, that didn't happen - so moving on. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Wouldn't mind if PF was a stand alone IF the game engine/experience was a hybrid from the existing IL-2FB AEP build. If not, however, then it should be a themed addon fully integrated into the existing game.

My hope is that while PF will not be a complete rebuild like BOB, that there will be a limited set of great planes made right, with a lot of new missions, maps, objects along with some great new features for off/online play.

In the end would be happy with whatever Oleg throws my way, but I hope as a community we start realizing that more and more planes without furthering the gameplay engine itself will adversely affect the popularity of this great sim.

I realize with BOB in the production this isn't going to happen, and yet with all the energy focused non-Eastern Front planes and what not I can't help but imagine where we could have been by now with new game innovations and even better modelled planes as we wait for PF.

come on why do you think lomac failed becuase of the ammount of aircraft.

this game would loose its fun with 5-10 aircraft, learning each of the aircraft is what makes this game a interesting fennec.

early war
mid war
late war

med bombers
heavy bombers

As for fms basically everything in FB doesnt need to be touched besides some of the climb rates in the 109s.

I think more aircraft and maps are what makes this sim keep going, BOB suppost to be completely new game engine but PF is just some game engine additions but pretty using the same fb engine.

The new content is key to this sim's popularity I think. Let's rethink the question of this thread... Instead of WILL you pay for more, lets ask... WOULD you have paid for each patch that contained addon planes that have been given away for FREE so far? I would not have, but that's just me. My point is that the abundant, free, and excellent (really payware quality IMO) addons are a major draw compared to other flight sims.

IL2 and FB without AEP are already unsupported software from this point on. I figure that FB/AEP and maybe PF will be no longer supported once new software like BoB (which of course UBI and Maddox want you to buy!) is at retail.

What I've wondered at, but dunno if it's possible, is the transfer of authority for adding new content to third a party, sort of like Falcon 4. Even better if programs like Gmax could be used for noncommercial FB/AEP addon materials, to empower those who can't afford (or are unwilling to "aquire") 3DSMax. New content would be provided for general approval by a group of volunteers who would have the software tools to compile the new freeware materials for patching into the game.

Again, just an imagination, and if it worked as well as Falcon 4 seems to have, FB could enjoy a very long life. Whether it's actually possible, again... no idea.

keep it coming gentlemen, if we can get this post into the 1000 range votes included we might be able to get UBI/oleg's attention

I'll take as many German planes as yer little hands can make http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

05-26-2004, 10:25 PM
You know what the really nice thing here is? We all seem to be more worried about the community than we are concerned about the content of the new game. That really says something about this bunch.

Sorry, I just had to say it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

05-26-2004, 11:17 PM
I love this game as it is, and would be willing to pay for new airplane packs. It actually kinda worries me that Oleg does all this stuff for free (ie new planes). I get the feeling that it could all come to an end, especially with the incredible level of ingratitude I often see on this board.

God, if I have to read another "I PAID for a PERFECT simulation with blah-blah-blah totally accurate" type post, I may just puke.

05-26-2004, 11:33 PM
I'd pay a one time price of 100 bucks for a WWII flight sim that had perfect multiplayer netcode.

A game where I don't have to worry about a plane warping 50 feet away while I'm trying to "sweet talk" a bogey's right wing off would be more fun than the warpfest now.

The current netcode almost seems to make the game harder if you have a faster connection. It makes no sense.

I'll pay a 1000 bucks for a thousand German planes! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/784.gifAlright you can mix in a some Japanese, like say 200 of em'.
