Fellow Aces Lunatics, I recently picked up "Victory at Sea" in DVD and was simply stunned. The footage has been cleaned up a bit but NOT enhanced by computer graphics. The results are mindblowing. I made some quick captures of the seventh chapter of the first of four discs, "Guadalcanal." The first is am image of B-24's pickling off over Guadalcanal;

In the next shot we have the bomb stick hitting the beach on GC.

Here we have the Marines going ashore in the first moments at Guadalcanal;

Now we see one of my personal favorite images from the whole enchilada, the Marine's Mascot "Sampson" crossing the ramp of the LCI. Ironically in the moving images of the DVD you can see he hesitates just like all animals do when crossing grating <ggg.>

Here's the best pic of the bunch, this insane Betty pilot has just dropped his load and is screaming past the deck of a US Destroyer at less than a hundred feet off the water! Yeehaw, that dude can fly!

I hope the darn photobucket thing works, with all my experience in networking and such the web side is still new. All the best, LongHorn

Look up "Victory at Sea DVD" on amazon.com. It's 65 bucks.

Some image hosting sites have a 'Public page' and 'Your page' I think you linked to your page. Need to make them public http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.
