Some people don't seem to be using the font tags properly. You have to close your font tags with a "/font" (put the < and > around it) or anyone who posts after you, or any text after the tag is put will have the same text effect.

This problem will come back with the use of HTML, and I just wanted to let everyone know how to use HTML properly.

Thanks for reading it, and please fix it if you have this problem with your sig.

Some of the threads before the forums were changed had this problem, and I've fixed a few people's sigs with this problem (not recently) and felt like it needed mentioning.

How to actually use font tags is simple. Type &ltfont&gt into your sig. before the greaterthan, type "color" or "face" or "size".

Color: The compex system is used like this: color="#RRGGBB"
Replace RR with a value for red, GG with the value of green, and BB with the value for blue. These values are in hexadecimal, from 00 to FF, 00 being the absence of the colr, and FF being brightest. For example, "#000000" is black (which is almost invisible on these forums) and "#FFFFFF" is white.

Here is a list of the colors so you can see examples of each color.

<font color="#FFFFFF">FFFFFF</font>
<font color="#FFFF00">FFFF00</font>
<font color="#FF00FF">FF00FF</font>
<font color="#00FFFF">00FFFF</font>
<font color="#FF0000">FF0000</font>
<font color="#00FF00">00FF00</font>
<font color="#0000FF">0000FF</font>
<font color="#888888">888888</font>
<font color="#88FF00">88FF00</font>

This system is more difficult than the more commonly used system of replaceing the #RRGGBB with "red" or "blue" or "green", but you can make colors that you couldn't using the names.

Face: This means the style of text, or font. It will look like: face="*name of font*" or face="*name1*, *name2*, *name3*". If you use a font that didn't come installed with your machine, chanes are not everyone will see your sig the same way. Also, if they have the same font in different names, you'd want to use the second format (name1, name2, name3) for things like Mistral and Staccatto 222 BT. They are exactly the same (by my comparison) but my computer doesn't have Mistral. So it would look like: face="Mistral, Staccatto 222 BT" in which the viewer's computer would search for mistral and use that font first, but if it doesn't find mistral, it will look for Staccatto. If it finds niether, it will have the same font as the rest of the forum. Please keep in mind with changing facis, that if you want to use the font that your name looks perfect in, and you downloaded it off a website or from a disk or something, chances are we're all going to see it in Tahoma, Arial, or Vernanda. (all 3 are plain fonts)

<font face="Symbol">Symbol font</font>(Symbol font, greek letters)
<font face="Comic Sans MS">Comic Sans MS</font>

Size: Just like above, only it will be a value from 1 to 7.

<font size="1">Size 1</font>
<font size="2">Size 2</font>
<font size="3">Size 3</font>
<font size="4">Size 4</font>
<font size="5">Size 5</font>
<font size="6">Size 6</font>
<font size="7">Size 7</font>

You can combine these tags into one font tag: < font face="Mistral" color="#88FF00" size="4" > This text would be changed < /font > (remove the spaces at the beggining and end of each side with the <'s and >'s.)

And that's all of the coding you'll need to make a good font for your sig.

Please do not use these to make obnoxiously large fonted funny colored unreadable posts to add emphasis. There are bold, italic, and underline tags to do that.

Once again, close your font tags. If you don't, someone who quotes you will have words that appear exactly as the last unclosed font tag in your sig.
