That does it!! I was flying offline campaign in a He-162 and there was only two of us, escorting two FW-190s with bombs. Two Yak-9Ds and two Yak-9Ts, appear suddenly. I was merging with one of them at high speed at about 90 degrees and we were both in level flight. As I zipped by him, I got off a spectacular shot at exactly the right instant ( I was only a few feet from him when I fired ) and he started streaming heavy smoke. It was such nice shooting I actually screamed out a loud "yes!!!" and got the attention of my wife two rooms away. I kept my eye on him as I started to turn back on him to finish him off. No such luck, I observed my stupid flight leader
come up right behind him and vulch my kill and heard him claim it in German. Three other planes to go after and this sucker decided to take out my wounded prey. Because it was easier I guess?? If the guy was real and not composed of 1's and 0's, I'd find him and kick his butt. I have had this happen a lot of course but this one made me madder than any so far. Did I mention I hate the AI in this game?? The lousy thieving little jerks!! Whine, moan, complain, gripe, b1tch!! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-mad.gif Well anyway I do feel better getting it off my chest http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/59.gif

Well when I had IL2 original and I was a bit younger and flew with no cockpit on, I had a temper problem and when AI would steal my kill I would just blow my own wingman out of the sky http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/784.gif. Well I dont do that anymore(thankfully) and I feel where your coming from. AI, ARGG, sometimes.

That is why i make it a habit to shoot down any friendly AIhttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/1072.gif

I usualy do this in coops when the mission is complete and im returning to base.

Some times my squad mates and i may feel a little nutty, and we try to kill eachother on are way back to base.

Hy dudes. For anyone who wants to know. I'm Samuel5093. Or used to be. I did a format and got myself a new name. I'm from Greek origin. Now about the AI. Not long ago I posted something about it to. The friendly AI is crap. I gave 3 examples. Just today, my ******* wingman stole my third kill. It was like my best mission ever. And that ****er ruins. I'm just saying, I understand you pain brother. Let's hope the patch bring improvement!!

Live with it. The AI steals kills. Just make a note to yourself and steal one back the next chance you have. Follow your leader and when he smokes the enemy zoom in and steal the kill.

Keep in mind that the AI doesn't "know" that they are stealing kills. It is better that they are aggressive than to have them fly away from the enemy.

If it really bothers you, open the log file and edit it and claim the kill for yourself.

That sounds exactly like the people who fly online. In reality the AI is being exactly like the people who fly online so its not realy surprising.

Its like complaining about the AI colliding with you...heck the guys online are worse (some of them) http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Well it's nothing new to me, it was about the millionth time it happened to me. But for some reason the most agravating ever. They should program the AI to not go after already damaged
aircraft. They waste their time when they could go after healthy ( and still deadly ) planes. Another great add on would be to add a command like, "I got him!" or "He's mine!" key. Or maybe a "I don't need your help" key command. This was my idea way back in the first days of IL2.

I've actually done this before but to do it right you have to edit about 6 different files!!

Had a new one... knocked the engine out of an aircraft and AI shot it down...I was watching it glide down to earth.

Oleg did some work with AI in AEP... I like it overall, but the kill stealing! Makes me want to shoot my own team down. Maybe the patch will increase the effectiveness of .50's and 20mm's so that you don't have to watch the smokers get picked off.
