AEP is Directx 9? When did that happen?! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif

Anyway, to answer your question, I don't think AEP will run better on your Radeon than FB did. I do think it will run better on your Radeon than on a non-DX9 card. Either that, or it simply won't show the new DX9 features on a non-DX9 card.

Direct X 9.0b is a must for any version of FB and you can get it here...

There is a new water mode that only works with DX9 cards, but otherwise everything will be the same.

Hmmmm...I have a Radeon 9700Pro and AEP does run better, I've increased the settings and haven't got a hit on the amount of FPS. I completely un-installed FB then re-installed it followed with AEP (no patches)

It's not a DX9 game. The DX9 requirement is stated on the box because it's a standard. In any case, the advanced water mode - 'Perfect' is not even available under DX, you need to use OpenGL to run 'Perfect' settings (or even 'Excellent' for that matter, last I checked). Don't loose sleep over this. lbhskier37, please check your facts before stating them. It is common knowledge on the forum that when FB had first come out, GeForce Ti4600 cards (DX8.1) ran FB at 'Perfect' settings (the fancy water) better than Radeon 9700s did. I remember because I felt bummed out that a DX8.1 card was outperforming my shiny DX9 card. Thankfuly, that proiblem has been fixed by now, with patches from 1C: Maddox and drivers from ATI, but to restate my point - there is no DX9 code in IL2, nor in IL2FB nor in IL2FB AEP.
