There is a bug in FB I can't understand; buildings.

What I mean?. Think about this; we have two bombers, TB3 and He111. And we have buildings we can destroy. In fact, that is the main target for heavy bombers; industry, capital buildings, bridges... I suppose yo know what I mean.
Now I fly a TB3 mission, drop the bombs when I get to the target and destroy a complete industry complex. Mission sucess. Well, where are my points?. The same if I destroy a bridge (IL2 bug from the beguinning). Why?.

This is the reason in VEF we can't fly missions to destroy enemy industry to decrease resources. Games does not count targets destroyed. It's so hard to add this option?.

If you mean kill's you don't get kills for building's
Only for armour ships AAA and air planes

Of course I mean kills, I would like to "kill" a building in a TB3 raid and get points for that. What is better, destroy some tanks or destroy the fabric?

In the mean time, you can go into the FMB and place train cars inside of the buildings. When your bombs destroy the building, the rail car might go up with it. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

YEs, I know, but that's not what I want, and VEF does not support that. I want to destroy the building and get a reward for it /i/smilies/16x16_woman-wink.gif

I agree with Ciberputa.

I want VEFs, VOWs & Coop missions with buildings as main targets, and I want my points for destroying them.

I think this bug is not difficult to fix, is it?

I agree,

Factories, railyards, bridges, port facilities...all are legit military targets, especially for the heavies in WW2.

I've always thought that this aspect of IL-2\FB was a huge oversight on Oleg's part. He gave us this complex simulation with beautifully modeled towns, cities and industrial areas, but none of them will give you any points and cannot be designated as a viable target.

Yes, objects can be placed inside these buildings, but it is a very poor substitute for the real thing. The mission creator should be able to designate certain buildings or even sections of housing as targets, and the player who destroys them should be rewarded for doing so.

If anyone here owns LOMAC, you'll know that this can be done. Let's hope that Oleg gets it right in B.o.B....http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Agreed.

How about awarding "success" for, say...
- deploying mines in an enemy shipping lane
- flying a successful recon mission
- cratering an enemy airfield
- flying as a FAC (forward air controller) and talking attack aircraft onto a target
- flying missions as a courier, transport pilot, air-ambulance pilot, etc...

I agree completely with ciberputa. We are missing and important way of adding an strategic point of view in the game (and a very easy to implement one)

I totally agree and wish this feature had been part of the game from the start. Online missions could be greatly improved with this capability and things like VEF/VOW and scripted servers could take on a whole new dimension.

One obvious example is an airfield. Currently most people use static planes and AA guns as FBD targets, but with the ability to destroy buildings and have them counted as targets as well, you could design the mission so that not only the above targets need to be destroyed, but the tower, hangars etc. That would effecively mean you are destroying the airbase, since your goal might be to blast everything standing and it would give a new dimension to medium and heavy bombers to be used as actual level bombers from up high (and have a reason to intercept them).


Plus, that inevitable online jacko that runs into the tower would finally be penalized for not taking off properly http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Did the scripted server people ever figure out putting fuel trucks inside buildings and using them as mission-complete targets ?

Buildings and bridges must give points when they had been destroyed and must have repercussion in war result.

Factories, railyards, bridges, port facilities...all are legit military targets, especially for the heavies in WW2.
