but doesnt come out in the UK for another 13 days! This hardly accurately reflects the yanks' call to Arms in world war II does it.
I guess they need a little extra advance practice. hehehe ;-)

Crap! The most logical theory is that the manufacturing is done in the US... seeing that UBI is a french company, and that Maddox Games is based in Russia, it's the only logical guess.

Even the mighty dollar is worth less than the british pound or the Euro.

So we Europeans should get it first... or at least a global release at the same time would have been cool.

Grrrr.

I thought it had to do with local import/customs laws and production as it did when Fogotten Battles came out first in the US previously.

Ah, yes, I wonder how much more `beating of the chest`, `We have it before you do` that we will have to endure before we receive AEP?

There was a game released in september called `Silent Storm` it had a WWII theme. Made by Russians. It was released in Russia first, then Europe and finally, the US got it 2 weeks later.

Now isn`t this more logical? Or to help our US friends empathise, imagine a US company making a great US Sim, then releasing it first in Europe, while making the US wait 2 weeks for it.

There would probably be an official enquiry in Congress!

Yeah i hated having to wait for Silent Storm to come out, and then EB took another few days to actually get it in stock..they screwed up. It sucked.

UBI is headquartered in Montreal, Canada. This is probably the only reason for the early North American release. It's right here!

Actually Silent Storm has some quite amazing potential. The physics modelling of the character bodies, weapon effects hits and also the effects on stone, metal, even ricochets. Everything was destroyable.
I had one mission where some Germans were above me in a house and I heard them, so got one of my men to fire the mg thru the ceiling and got him! Entire buildings can (and have) been wrecked completely if you have enough explosives, etc. It`s very much like a modern XCOM set in WWII.

Unfortunately, half way in the game they decided to add stupid futuristic things like Panzerklieins (walking robot exoskeletons) and laser weapons. This destroyed the very realistic feel to the game. I`ve shelved it in the hope that their addon/patch will give the player the option to cut that crap.

If it was not for the stupid scifi stuff I`d recommended to every one here...

I will bet you that you will not have to "endure" as much as we will, all that crying that we got it first.

Yea, but UBI has a very large office/complex in Montreal...therefore has a very large presence in Canada...so we should get it first.

Chances are everything is manufactured in China so who actually knows about the distribution.

OH WAHHH! Frankly FB in its self has so much to offer I was willing to wait another month or so. so I,ll send Oleg a email telling him to ship my copy across the pond just for the pure delight to see a riot started over one copy.

I've checked all the stores in my area, Nashville, TN., and they all tell me that it will be on the shelves tomorrow, the 4th. Some of them already had it in stock but said they couldn't release it until the 4th. BaaHumbug! S!
