Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

Is it me or do some of the things addressed in the patch not exactly apply to us yet? Improved seaplane handling? B-17G missions? There are no flyable seaplanes and no (official) B-17 missions. Is this a "pre"-patch for the new add-on? Am I making sense? Anyway, I'm not complaining. A big thanks for the (unexpected)patch. I love it when they come outta nowhere.http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Ok, i take it back, the patch is NOT nice.
Yes, the fixing of the sound is good and that FB is still getting patched and taken care of is also good, but the ntrk error is another disaster of UBI and 1:C, why the hell are they not able to check a patch at least superficially before release ????????? The ntrck thing is so obvious that anybody really checking basic functionality of the game after some reprogramming should detect it quickly, ESPECIALLY as the track recording always was a delicate and bug ridden feature which had problems after many patches....
So we are waiting for patch 1.22a or 1.23 or so...

AFTER THE PATCH is BEFORE THE PATCH !!

To Manuc and Black_Skull1
I would really like to know exactly why you say that, any suggestion what you mean ? I couldnt find any changes to LW plane performance, also the easier overheating stated by BlackSkull i cant find, at least not at superficial trials flying G2...
So, if you or others utter statements like this which poke into old wounds of the community you should at least have the decency to back it up with some facts or testprocedures which allow us to reproduce what you find.

Shut up or deliver substance, then we can discuss and should it be true what you say i would support you as i am dedicated LW.
The only major grievance i can find so far is the ntrck bug, apart of that i think the fixed sound favors LW tactic of B&Z, high flying..etc.
(of course red could fly like that too, a La7 or whatever could also be used as B&Z, so lets say, it favors typical tactics, in an absolute sense it favors noone)

Yours,

Did you unzip the files into the right directory? It's set to unzip them by default into C:\Program\Ubi Soft\IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles\, which is NOT where I have mine installed. Try looking there, then just move/copy them into the right folder. Best of luck! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I can't see why we should have to pay for the fix in the Addon. 1.22 screwed up FB without Oleg having anything to do with it from what I understand. UBI pulled a fast one on us and that isn't right. I won't be buying any Addon if that's the case and FB will be uninstalled and reinstalled back to 1.21. I can live without an Addon and save myself some money. And a lot of guys might just feel the same way.

Now a simple solution would be to patch back to 1.21 or have a way to get rid of 1.22. We had no problems with 1.21 at all on the servers or Hyper Lobby.

r_c, it looks like FB or CFS3 with the Fire Power addon will be our only choices for now, tho the addon isn't out yet for CFS3.

Hopefully FB will be it when it's addon comes out and we have flyable B17s. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Well thanks IC and Oleg - Certainly is nice to see another free patch appear - unfortunately - i must be the only fool still running the 1.2b patch cos i haven't had the time to D/L the 1.2 proper one yet - now i got two to D/L

I think i'll just wait until the retail add-on - or have we got to install these patches first?
thinking about it - i bet i'll at least have to get rid of my beta - o well better start d/ling 1.2 now then.....

I just got this game.

After installing the 1.22 patch, I can no longer use the Esc key to end a mission. I have to use Task Manager to kill the game. Otherwise, all I can do is watch my wreckage burn indefinately. (I just got this game. LOL)

The fresh installation (1.0) works just fine.
