An official statement about this Time Out issue...
Even if no solution was found, just say something about it, I´m feeling totally lonely and hopeless here...I just can´t play online...

Same here ..... and not even a single line to explain this major bug ... I'm not happy at all . no matter what we do , there's no way to get a fix for that , tried all possible settings .. no results , only Time Outs.
Please gives a light at this one .

There are several threads in the community help forum, guys. Go there.

I have the same problem. I learned that the way to stop the online timeout for me is to disable sound in Forgotten Battles.

Not an attractive option, but it will do until the patch comes out and hopefully fixes all this stuff.

We found solution.
Too bad that many use old hardware... Measn some simple sound cards.

Tomorrow we will test with some group of testers for wich we will send the new dlls and they will distribute it around to these who like to test as well.

The if all will go Ok then we will include this correction in add-on.

"Too bad many use old hardware"

With all due respect, this almost sounds like it's our fault that YOUR product isn't working properly, whereas many other games have NO problems like that.

S!

P.S.: I'm using a 1-year-old Hercules Gamesuround Fortissimo 3 sound card... so as Ash asked, WHAT is old, and WHAT is simple?

Was kind-o-thinking that myself.. what with the HISTORY of bad sounds in IL2 that "old hardware" swipe was a pretty bold statment! But I really dont care! What I do care about is making it work.. And if their software is *targeted* for a specific sound card.. PLEASE TELL ME WHICH ONE SO I CAN GO BUY IT!! And then do the RECOMENDED drivers thing like they do for the VIDEO CARDS.

I think this is more an example of the language barrier leading you to read something as being said when it was not.

I read his comment as a lament that older hardware is out that does need to be supported. More like self pity for having to maintain backward compatibility. Even MS suffers with this.

Well, this certainly doesn't apply to my sound card, unless driver support nowadays runs out after about one year max. after the initial release of a hardware component...
And again, how come other new games don't have these problems?

Interesting that it's obviously related to sound. Too bad that I've got that problem, 2. But not sound related. I get a "Timeout ." just as I enter the select plane screen when having Perfect landscape details on. Also, the game just freezes up after ~10mins. I needed to disable Perfect to have a clean, stable AEP. Maybe those 3.7 cats aren't any good anymore. But I get stutters with everything more recent... up to a whole minute.

I've read that Audigy 2 has a near-perfect track record with AEP. Every thread I've read about this has posts in it claiming that PCs using Audigy 2 doesn't ever have timeouts. In fact I'm going to get one myself tomorrow, since I already got a gift cert. for Best Buy.

And if I remember right.. the big (only) difference is it is 24bit vs. 16bit of the earlyer Sound Blaster versions?

U have Audigy and still have timeouts...

but it seam that this thing works..try it...

XP users:
control panel ----> Sounds and audio devices
----> Volume (speaker settings) -----> Advanced
----> Performance ---> lower your hardware acceleration (moving the slider by one step to the left).....

hope this works for others until Oleg makes some new dlls for sound

I found out some more interesting info on this timeout issue. Would be helpful if some of you could check this on yoru systems as well.
