Yes you can use a headsets in game. What voice comms are you using? I use quite a few myself like:

TeamSpeak2: http://www.teamspeak2.net/ or what seems to be the english version of the site: http://www.teamspeak.org/

RogerWilco: http://rogerwilco.gamespy.com/

Ventrilo: http://www.ventrilo.com/

SideWinder Game Voice: http://www.gamevoice.com

The ones that I like the most are Ventrilo and if you can get it TeamSpeak. the voices are alot clearer Think you might be able to use MSN messenger too, not sure. I know someone will be along shortly to help you a little better. Welcome to the forums, good luck and hope to see you on the field soon.

Think TeamSpeak is the one that's used most, also by game servers that offer free use of their TeamSpeak server.

Some say that Ventrillo is better, can be, but it's not as widespread.

TeamSpeak: When you game on direct IP, one of you has to install the TS Server, everyone must install the TS Client.
Download links top right on http://www.teamspeak.org

Once installed you can click "help" and click the manual. Configuration is quite easy.

Host PC opens the TS Server.
The others open their TS Client and connect through the host PC's external IP (same way they connect to the game). The host PC opens the TS Client and connects to the TS Server using the internal IP.

If host PC uses a firewall, port no 8768 (udp) must be forwarded.
