It varies dramatically depending on:

HDD speed
Front side bus speed
System RAM
Processor speed
Which map the mission uses
Number of objects in the mission

If it's a complex mission using the Gulf of Finland map on a slow machine with not much RAM it can be well over a minute, sometimes over two. Fast machines with simple missions and it will be only a short wait.

Depends how many objects / textures / aircraft need to be loaded. i.e. loading times vary depending upon the mission.

Of course the higher spec machines with lots of RAM will load them faster.

Weird, even online a mission loads between 10 secs and 1 minute on my side. And I don't have a top notch machine (2.4Ghz,1GB RAM,Ti4600)

You've got heaps of RAM. HDD speed is more important than processor speed for mission load times, though processor speed has some effect.

If you don't have enough RAM for the mission, some of the mission load is done to swap file which effectively more than halves load speed (doubles load time) for the part of the mission that won't fit in RAM.

Yah,
In fact I've heard only good things about thee new SATA HDD's from Western Dig. Onee friend of mine told me that windoze installed in about 20 mins. And he was talking about XP. I'm very tempted to buy suh a piece. HDD iis not like CPU or vid card.Is always good to have more space.

When you get a new drive, get two :>

Reducing warranty periods/MTBF of ATA drives to 1 year was a pretty sneaky move.
