While flying under a bridge in itself is certainly not all that spectacular, taking a screen shot of it was pretty tough.

There must be an easier way than hitting F2 to come out of the aircraft and then "prntscrn" to take the image.

I also see this forum has no method to "preview" one's post.

You can record your fight then go back and watch it from external view and take a good screen shot that way. You can also slow down the track to get the right postion of plane that you want.

Really?

Well, hot damn!

I thought that when you recorded a track you could only replay it in the view it was recorded in.

Hmmm. Isn't it also possible to set "camera's" up...like next to a bombing target from which you can also switch to then??

Thanks.

It's amazing all this game has to offer.

At the UI where you choose the track to play/replay, flip the switches that allow manual camera control and time compression. Use the ( [ ) & ( ] ) keys to speed up/slow down playback. To see the shot from your targets point of view hit Ctrl+F2. Zoom and pan with the mouse. Select F2 to see your a/c and pan/zoom with the mouse. To see the other a/c keep pressing F2 for your side and Crtl+F2 for the other side. My boy loves this feature. He refers to it as "Cool Dad, just like The Matrix." http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

You know, there is a way but I think only in the Full Mission Builder but I'm not 100% sure about this. I've had FB for about a year and I'm still learning alot of things about it too....lol.

I only recently discovered that you could place your external view behind the enemy with Crtl F2. Duh. It's great, adds a whole new perspective to track replays. You can also use Crtl F2 then F6 to externally padlock your enemy's enemy (i.e. you).

Ctrl F2 is also a great way to admire the damn B-17 that continues to fly on its merry way after it shoots me down! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

F8 is another way to "get behind yourself".

FMB won't work for .ntrks.

I've had IL-2/FB for 8 months and all you do with the sim is learn, learn, learn. It's just another great feature!

In full mission builder you can place cameras anywhere on the map, including near targets. You can set the position and altitude of the camera. Here's a useful guide to Full Mission Builder.

ROFLMAO.... Dont get me wrong I am NOT laughing at you... I am lauging with you and to you because you are going to discover SO MUCH AMAZING STUFF WITH THIS SIM!!!!! I am tickled to death...LOL.. I STILL get blown away and I have been flying FB since the day it was released and I started in IL2 @ 18 months ago while waiting for CFS3 to come out. There is so much to do in this sim. I sometimes spend hours just watching tracks...... Hey... I spent all my IL2 time thus far on the QMB and the only reason I started to get into the FMB was because I said to myself "Hey this is ridiculous... you need to learn this thing."...and I wanted to use other maps and make things my own way...... but I was perfectly happy with my QMs on the 3 maps available and flying whatever missions I could DL. You are going to LOVE this sim. It will be the best...whatever you paid for it that you will have ever spent thus far on "things" and as far as entertainment goes I can gaurantee you nothing will even come remotely close to matching the fun per buck spent factor that this sim will give you.
You can also pan around at different angles too, using your mouse if you didn't know that. I sometimes like to hit pause while watching a track or playing a mission and cycle through the views (CTRL F2 & SHIFT F2) zooming in and out. I also like to zoom out and mouse to the ground...if I am low enough and watch the objects whizz by.... Or go on the ground and walk through a town. Look in my sig and make sure you DL the UDQMG program. It will let you set up QMB type missions but using FMB type power. This forum will be an invaluable source of commeraderie, advice, and solid, usable info.....technical & otherwise and you may just build some real friendships here. Welcome aboard.

Yeah, I've looked at lot at Mudmovers. But why read it when there is so much help here?

j/k!!

So... another question. The answer to which I could not find at Mudmovers. But I will put that in another thread.

You are in for a real sweet treat when you learn the ntrk feature. Even taking online dogfight screenshots can be perfected to the point of art and with the option to slow down the ntrk to any speed you wish, the ease of screenshot angles and so on can be nailed so much easier than the hell of trying to snipe off a screenshot as you race alon at 300mph http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

You can even pause the action and cycle through all your camera angles. I've just posted a guide to creating tracks for campaigns in the mission builder forum :-http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=400102&f=50910533&m=76710959 which contains some tips which will assist the screenshot creator too.
