As an idle question, I was curious as to how others set up their gun convergence along with the rockets and delay on the rockets. I use 700m for everything and a 20 second delay on the rockets. I usually wait until a little closer though. Any better suggestions? The other question I had was is it possilbe to use a different plane than what is standard in the campaigns? Can you go in using the full mission builder and change the plane you fly? I would like to start using the p-38 on a regular basis but not in the QMB. And before I forget, any skinners wanting pics of a p-38, I got 2 or 3 of the one in the Lonestar Flight Museum ,let me know. I also have some of their other warbirds and some from an airshow.

Depends a lot on which guns / cannons your talking about? But at 700m your prolly not doing enough damage when and if you hit your target. You need to get closer, I have played around between 200 and 300 but I would not recommend more than 500 for anything other than cannons. I would work on getting closer to your opponents before firing as at 700m you would need to be a pretty sharp deflection shooter.

Not a big fan of rockets (mostly cos I end up being on the recieving end) but 20 seconds seems way to long a delay. Also if your wanting to skip bombs into targets on water you will need to set the delay to Zero

I've had no luck ever timing rockets to damage things in proximity, only ever with firing them straight into aircraft from close-ish range, hence also set the delay to 20 seconds or more.

Gun convergence (MG's) 100-250m depending on the expected target. Cannons a little further out, normally 300-500m depending on the mission.

Cheers, Spinner

I've had a bit of success with rockets fired from Sturmovik for air-to-air. Try 2 or 3 second delay from 300 metres or so. Experiment through QMB to get the settings right.

Thanks for the help guys http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. I put the 20 sec delay on rockets cause I more often than not I misjudge the distance to ground targets and the rockets blow before getting to target http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif. Will shorten up convergence on the mgs and probably the cannons to. I do have a nasty habit of opening up too soon on a target. The bomb delay stays at zero cause even if I drop too soon, I doubt they are gonna slide to target then go off.

next time your ship busting try flying low level 50 m or so and if your bombs are set to zero seconds they should bounce along the water into the ship. Takes some doing but I get a jolly out of it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/53.gif just make sure you roll out quick before the boom ! Good luck with the new settings S!
