The following link is to a "mission" file I created to test the relative "robustness" of damage models in FB.
The idea behind this kind of test was NOT mine. As far as I know, Lexx Luthor was the first - he used a static bomber to shoot at parked AC to test DM. All I have done is to create a setup wherby the user can easily insert whatever AC he wishes to test into the mission using the FMB, and the US M16 Quad .50 Halftrack on the hill behind it will do the rest. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif
Of course, any objective test will have to be repeated numerous times, to get an average of how many hits a given AC can take. But still, I think this may be an accurate method of testing DM in FB, especially since I know many of us out there will come up with new and exciting ways to use this tool.
Thanks to Lexx Luthor for giving me the idea. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
BTW- According to several preliminary tests- much to my surprise- the Ki84 is not as hard a target as imagined. Tougher than some, seems like it. Made of kavlar? No way.
Test it yourself and see!

I can see using a player controlled bomber gunner position to fire on the aircraft, thereby getting a true hit score in the log file. But how will you get a count of hits from an AI controlled M16?

RX man, how do you invoke the logfile?
Is it a console function?
I hadn't considered the problem you mention, I'd like to explor it further-
Thanks-
