I have a 32 meg Nvidia graphics card and belive it or not get framerates in the 40 fps range even on High detail (I usually fly at medium though). Anyway just seeing how some of you out there with lower end cards have your IL2 setup configured. I go with the custom setting, with S3TC set and Trilinear filtering. No AA or AF. Have more checked at the bottom(texture compression, etc) but can't remember all my settings(I am work at the moment so it's tough). Anyway I am just looking to see if there is a better setup out there that I can try as every little bit helps. I have 256 meg of ram and an 800MHZ processor. Very, very few stutters, an occasional one when I get close to the ground in high detail mode. Thanks.

40 fps??!! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif I'm going to have to try your settings when I get home! Post more details! I'm running a P3 500 with 320 megs of RAM. My vid card is the same as yours.

I'm curious too. Some questions I have : are you running it on Win XP or older ? DirectX 8 or 9 or OpenGL ? Is the 40 fps range the highest score you got or an average ? If it's an average, that's amazing for that processor and vid card !

Don't get upset when someone posts basically saying you are not being completely truthful. That happened to me a couple weeks ago. Some of these high end users find it hard to believe that someone with a setup like yours can get good FPS and smooth gameplay. I myself am in the low end range also, but a little better specs than you, P-4 2.4ghz 512 mgs ram with 64 mgs on my GF4MX 420. Still, it sounds like you are running as good and smooth as myself. Congrats! But, one of these days this card will fry, and then I can justify purchasing a great vid card so I can see where some of the high end users are coming from. I mean, I think I run smooth now. I can't imagine what it would be to run frame rates in the 60's and up. But, I'm glad you can run smooth with your setup bro. S!

I think that you are talking about
il2 and not il2fb.

I think that its impossible to get 40fps
with such a cofig. on il2fb.

if you are pulling 40FPS at an 800MHz with 32MB video and 256RAM tell me HOW...i can't get more than 26-33 maximum @ 1024x768x16.. << IN the ORIGINAL IL2..
FB pulls about 15FPS at the same settings..

SO post some more details please..

Is it IL2 or IL2/FB ?? Displayresolution?? Other settings in ILSetup?? and please be sure to post them all!! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I'm on a 866MHz with a 32MB card and 512Ram...

Running a GeF2Ti 32mB AGP4x myself at the moment (setting of AGP in the BIOS [be CAREFULL there] is VERY important) on a 1.7GHz P4 1024MByte 266DDR and WinXP.

I also get good framerate.
(between 15 fps lowlevel over Berlin and 60 fps up hi - both measured with the console command ">fps START SHOW" with no other players online)
There are some remarks though:

Low level with many objects (e.g. a city) will result in a dramatic framerate loss.
Therefore its important to measure framerate over time...

I run the game on 1024x768 32bit colour under OpenGL with

FB Custom setting (run setup in main FB folder)
anisotropic texture mipmap
S3TC texture compression
Use Dither
Use Vertex Arrays
Use Polygon Stipple
Multitexture, Combine, Secondary Color, Vertex Array Extension, Texture Anisotropic Extension and Textture Compress ARB Extension all set http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

My advice to you would be don't touch a thing, keep your itchy little fingers to yourself. You seem to be getting good preformance the way it is set up now so why mess with something that aint broke.
