I asked myself that question and answerd it like this:I have Flanker 2.0/2.5 and never really got into it,so I guess I won´t with Lomac either. But it sure does look good.Oh,talking to myself...that can´t be good.. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I'd suggest the game if the latest patch had solved all the outstanding issues, but it doesn't.

If the demo fries your PC, the full game will too.

It doesn't have a campaign, online play is horrible (there is no DF mode http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif ), mission builder is mediocre at best, minimum GPU for 30fps average at low detail is Radeon 9600 Pro, AI sucks and many of the guys who made it are *ssholes. And to top it off people at their forums are impressed by having online play at all. I don't know what the deal is but it seems the LOMAC crowd has very low standards. That being said, I play LOMAC almost as much as I play AEP these days. LOMAC does have some interesting planes and seems to have decent flight and sensor modeling. Damage models are a little crude though. You either suffer no damage or get blown apart, nothing in between ever happens. My official rating of LOMAC with the latest patch is MEH! (4 out of 10).

I build COOPs and DF maps. If you would like some of them you can get them atmy COOP page (http://www14.brinkster.com/triggerhappy770/default.htm)

I/JG1 Oesau is recruiting axis pilots who prefer to fly maximum realism. We accept both veterans and rookies. We fly in VEF2, VOW and may join other online wars in the future. Go to our forums at http://www.jg1-oesau.org/ for more details and to apply.

There are campains, but the're not dynamic http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

The mission builder is better than FBs anyway. But sadly there are no triggers or such here either http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Great game. In some aspects fare better then FB. I has great graphics, flight model, big veriety of flyable a/c (by the jetsim standards), carrier operations, great mission builder, decent MP (though to fly online you need at least 1G of RAM).

On the other side is lack of of dynamic compane.

If your PC cant run demo, dont even think about full game unless you are planning upgrade. High hardware demands if Lomac is a myth though. I run game on AMD 1400+, Radeon 9500 non pro, 512MB of RAM, medium settings with 2X AA and 4XAF. In cockpit im getting 30 fps, wich can drop down to 15 fps if you fly low over city and go up to 80 fps at the altitude.

The Demo is NOT like the Patched game. Actually, LOMAC is impressive for me for a few personal reasons....very long--almost persistent--contrails, realistic sky colours, and accurate night sky constellations along with correct star positions, star brightness, and star colours. That astonished me. When I saw that in the Demo I bought it just for that reason alone. No I don't really "play" LOMAC with my Athalon 1700+ with 256MB SDRAM and ATI 9200 but its surprisingly smooth (about 10 fps lowest of low detail but high res), but I may someday.

Nothing but flyable Noob jets. No *real* jets like Saab J~29 or Hawker Hunter and no *real* SAMS like Nike Ajax (http://ed-thelen.org/)

its harder than FB to learn all the tricks and how to use tactics and so on and its a realy cool jet sim if you got it running the right way but it is somewhat buggy and online play is horrible but for offliners its a good sim
and i enjoy it

if you got a fairly good system just go for it and patch it and use Loman addon manager ,youll see how good it can run
