You want to compare your system with others when it comes to performance in IL2:FB? (Ace expension Pack needed)

With the use of FRAPS (displays frames per second) we can do our own little benchmark if we all stick to the same settings of the game.
Use FRAPS version 2.1.0 demo, you can find it here --> http://www.fraps.com/downloads.htm

Rules are as follows:

*) All .ini files need to be UNchanged.
*) Resolution at 1024x768x32bits
Visibility: High
Objectg Lightning: High
Object Detail: Excellent
Landscape Lightning: Excellent
Landscape Destail: Excellent
Coulds: Detailed

Don't forget to start FRAPS before you start the game.

We must all select the Same Single player mission. Select Single Mission -> USSR -> Hurricane MKIIB (standard first mission of the game). When the mission starts, DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING. Just wait until everyone behind you has started their engines (about 20 seconds) and watch the framerate in your upper left corner. This framerate will be your score...

That won't do at all I'm afraid...

1) To insure exactly the same; you should play a TRACK. It's calculated real-time anyway...
2) fps differs a great deal when flying high or low over populated area's (like cities) - both should be in the track...
3) fps also differs with heavy AAA fire, close formation etc etc...

For some reason I don't think this is gonna work http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif But I'll give my judgement on your 27 fps. Your system is just about the norm.

Not everybody plays with the same settings, people with faster systems play in higher settings.
For instance the resolution, I don't play any game in 1024x786 32bit.
Also my conf.ini file is changed for obvious reasons, to tweak the settings for better performance/sound.

Here is my result:

2004-04-24 16:05:06 - il2fb
Frames: 5801 - Time: 157574ms - Avg: 36.814 - Min: 17 - Max: 75

The black death track has a label on it that states "Use me for benchmarking" around here.

1280x960 32Bit
Max graphics settings except I play in Excellent mode, not in Perfect.
4xFSAA and 8xAF
Vcync ON
Texture preference and Mipmap detail both on High Quality

System:
ASUS K8V Deluxe
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 1600Mhz FSB 1MB Cache
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 256MB DDRII
1024 MB RAM PC3200
Creative SB Audigy2
