After spending months in Lomac, I've came to like FB even more.

Nothing better than to drag a Spitty all over the map in my Fw 190, all the time with him cursing "...turn, you chicken, turn..." http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Well, the only way I fight a Spit on my 6 is to ignore his remarks and drag it into friendlies or ack. Be sure http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Yeah i too haven't loaded LOMAC into my harddrive. FB is in my new system. It has been in my system since the first time, the first IL-2 came out then it was replaced with FB.

I bought FS2004 a while back and although I like it I haven't put it on the system I installed about 3 weeks ago. Even if I want to go for a non-combat flight I enjoy flying one of my favorite FB planes over some nice scenery like Leningrad, Berlin etc. flying through smokestacks, under bridges and just exploiting a WWII aircraft's characteristics with better FM.

IL2/FB/AEP have SOUL - & that's what does it. It's all the small details & the feeling that you are really flying a tin can. Some call it immersion - I call it feeling. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I do spend my time between those three sims. I usually fly more Lomac and IL2 during the week and FS9 on week ends.
I still love lomac, and I think itÔ┬┤s totally complementary to IL2, as they are different concepts. At times I feel more flying old prop planes and other times, fast jets.

It seem that I cant get into a moder flighsim anymore.Everyting goes so fast and all those instruments,I just lost intrest.I use to play those kind of sim a lot before. But that Falkland island war sim looks intressting though.Hope I get cured until then.

That's another thing I love about IL2 that isn't really an aspect of any other sim. Each plane has its own little quirks, its own little deals that the pilot has to make with the plane. It's almost like you're married to the planes you fly in FB. You find that some planes don't work out for you, others are really easy and good for you, and some others may take a while to bring up a good relationship. The game does have soul, the planes have a soul. The enviornmen of FB has spirit. It's almost like it rises out of the ground, a hot palpable steam. The rolling pencils, the attention to detail, the incredible damage models.... You can't get that feeling from any other sim. It's almost as if you could turn the lights off in whatever room you're in, and actually be there in the midst of WW2 air combat. It feels real.
