Hey guys. I searched for headsets, but I couldn't get anything, so I thought I'd start a new topic. I'm thinking about getting one, so I don't have to type in multiplayer, it slows me down. But I thought before I bought one, I should find out if they work or not. Does anybody have one that works, and if so, which brand is it? Oh ya, and I am playing the game on the computer. Thanks a lot,

Ricardo

To NoFx__Ricardo,

This is my opinion and I'm not in favour of head sets for the following reasons. With my computer set-up I can hear grass move or foot steps coming from my back left or right or even here the enemy reload his weapon to my left and little things like that you lose with a headset. I can even here the direction of someone standing still and twisting as they scan if I'm close enough but that is my set-up and I do use Team Speak.

I will say this to all gamers never use voice activation as it just doesn't work in the game with the breathing and noises of the battle field. Please use press to talk. NoFx__Ricardo Make sure if you do decide to get a headset to buy the best you can for the money you have because that really does make a difference to the overall sound and speech quality.

Just to add,
I use to play with friends online
and in some situations when we are
in tunel (example) and if my team
mate talking I can hear it like he
realy speaks from tunel instead of
his room! But that also depends of
components in Your PC.
Good Luck! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

The mic/speaker set-up is good but requires a good soundcard and good speakers, preferably surround sound.

I use a Plantronics headset that works great.

A headset is practical when you game late night hours while others in the house try to get some sleep.

The overall experience is better with good speakers, yet with a headset you're not disturbed by 3rd party sounds like when the wife wants to hear her favourite opera. LOL.

In reply to your question: yes, headsets work but choose a good one and as Snipe21 says, in the software setup use the "push to talk button" option and not "voice activation".
