I'm in a Jagdgeschwader in IL2FB. But I don't think I will be in a Japanese squadron in PF. So I was wondering if anyone was actually going to put together a historic Japanese fight squadron?

Me.. with one member against all the US guys!!!! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif. There is also KZ Kamikaze I have met.
I also guess that squads will move to PF when it comes out but it seems that the people used to BnZ that are the majority will fly US http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif.

Well I've been thinking of starting a historically based Sentai/Kokutai...
Maybe if there's some interest for it...

right now Crash there are only 2 IJAF type squadrons in FB/AEP. KZ & SK. one is based out of Brazil i think & the other one from france.

More will come. Be Sure http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

of corse you could shoose to fly with one of the already well know usaaf PTO squads like or
friends from the 69th. or you could just wing with your buddies from the 310th FS & hang otu at the Tikki bar & strut around with some nice native girls. Who needs the ETO. Buuuuuurrrr to cold. All sand sun & fun here in the SW Pacific.

I am happy to report some of our guys(Igruppe/JG3) will be reforming our old EAW and CFS2 squad to fly PF. We will fly with the same name "Fuji's Flyers" / Carrier Group 5 "Shokaku". Personally, i can't wait, from the screenshots to the movies i am WAY impressed. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif Banzai! & S!

I would join an army sentai flying either the Ki-43 or...if it comes with PF, the Ki-45. (Army so I don't have to land on carriers http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/mockface.gif) However my saitek needs usb and so does my dsl and mouse so I'm short a port ahaha, so I can't play online.

You need to get a "USB Hub" I have 7 on mine (4 being used), But there is still the possibility of conflict ... I had to move my UPS backup power to my serial port.

Mine is from D-Link or you can do a search on "usb hub".

I was talking to a guy last night. Well rather arguing on the Hyper-lobby forum. He said that Japanese planes are Krap and no one is going to join a Japanese squad if you start one.
See what happens next year hehe...

Ah well, I'm not saying the Japanese planes are krap, but I'd prefer flying 'krap' planes. It's more of a challenge and way more fun.

Me too.. US planes are too technical for me I want to just get in there in hard dogfights instead of booming and zooming all the time.

Metal gear would you consider working with me to make a squad? I am working on the website now and learning to fly the KI84 and beating P51 ponies http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif. Are you ever on Hyper lobby?

JG53Frankyboy

well, im now more than 2 years familiar with Boom&Zoom - so, Allied planes should be more my taste http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

and flying along coastlines and maurauding enemy positions with lowlevel flying B25 and A20 , well - thats sounds very funny http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Hey Tsunami, I would definately be interested in setting up a new squad, however I will wait with setting up a Sentai/Kokutai until PF is released (just to see which aircraft I do or do not like, if I will ever be able to land on a carrier http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif).
I do fly on HyperLobby, you can me find in the player list as MetalG.

P.S. Great server Megile http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Ok MEGILE I look forwards to flying with you again http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif. MetalGear I don't think you need to wait for PF, AEP has the A6m2 that I flew almost all the time in CFS2 A6m5 and Ki84s. It also has a good amount of US aircraft like P39 P38 P47 and P51 that are great to fly against http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.
And I don't think you will have a problem landing on a carrier http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif. The ones in CFS2 were extremely small! and I landed Vals on them. Looking forwards to doing that again hehe.

S!

It is interesting to see some folks bagging out Imperial Japanese WWII Aircraft.

I've had the privelage of flying online for the last eight years, and have heard such generalisations many times.

People often look at history (which remember is always written by the winners) and the difficulties facing Japanese Aviators during the War years. People look at the results, after all the japs lost and the allies won, and they jump to conclusions which may not be sound in a Virtual Enviroment.

Japanese Aircraft were most certainly not ****, most difficulties they suffered were due to a number of factors that are not present in our virtual skies.

Japanese Ground crews and pilots will not face the troubles of a jungle enviroment, or over extended supply lines or Government policies.

No none of these things will hamper the Japanese Virtual Pilots. I personally feel that those amoung us who think JA planes are **** are in for a big surprise.

Good points Tigger.
Most of that will also go for the Allied side though (early in the war).

I personally will not form/join any squadron until I actually get Pacific Fighters, but it's nice to see folks that are willing to join or setup new Japanese squadrons.

Fortunatly for me and my fellow pilots, WTE has four Squadrons, 2 allied and 2 axis (one JA one DE) so we are getting pleanty of action already with our internal campaign and other activities http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I love Japanese aviation history and would be interested in being involved in a PF squad. I already have a website that was built for Battlefield 1942. It is modelled after the 203rd Kokutai (203Ku). We chose the 203Ku because of it's famous aces like Hiroyoshi Nishizawa and Takeo Tanimizu.

I own the domain "203ku.com" and would be willing to convert the site to a PF site since no one plays BF42 organized anymore. Plus, I would much rather the site be for a real flight sim.

If someone wants to try to organize a Japanese squadron based on the 203rd Kokutai, I will be the webmaster and a member of the squadron. However, due to my otherwise busy life, I don't have the desire or time to be a "CO" or the time to organize much of anything.

You can check out what I had for BF42 if you wish...

Great work there Akira!
If anyone's going to set up a squad it's very important to have a good looking homepage IMHO.

Well that's very good. We need all the Japanese Squadrons we can get. I also was kinda hopeing some one would pick up the other 2 squads from the 58th Fg 5th Af. the 311th FS & 210st FS (MEAF) so the 58 would be compleatly represented. so far we have 1/2 the group in FB/AEP & have since old IL-2 days. Also there are MANY great us Squads to choose form if anyones palnning os starting up a new one. VF-6 comes to mind for the Navy/USMC side & then there are many form the US 5th, 7th, air forces.
the 7th AF were at Iwo Jima and we all now we're getting that map for PF.

As for the 310th we have a 310th Sentia emblem that 310th Dizz did up for us but we use that as kinda an aggresor thing. we actually have one for DE & RU as well.
