Hello,

I have a Radeon 9800 nonpro and a 19" CRT with a Windows Resolution of 1280/1024.

Running WIN XP with all Updates.

The Resolution in FB ist 1280/960. See CONF.INI:
width=1280
height=960
ColourBits=32
DepthBits=24
StencilBits=8
ChangeScreenRes=1
FullScreen=1
DrawIfNotFocused=0
EnableResize=0
EnableClose=1
SaveAspect=1
Use3Renders=0

With Catalyst 4.1 I get the desired result with black stripes at the top and bottom.

After installing Catalyst 4.3 yesterday the AspectRation would not hold any longer.

After starting FB the resolution obviously changed, because the screen was black for a moment, but the black stripes were not there any more.

There were more problems. Settings over OSD for picture position, heigth and width are usually stored separatly for every resolution.
So changing this in FB (1280/960) should have no effect on Windows (1280/1024)
This was the case with Catalyst 4.1, but NOT with Catalyst 4.3. Changes in 1280/960 (FB) would effect Windows (1280/1024).

I did several restarts (after reading in this forum, that certain settings may take effect only after some restarts) but it didn't change.

So I went back to Catalyst 4.1 (using SystemRestore) and everything was fine again.

Oh, btw I did check CONF.INI several times with 4.3 even if I made no changes to the file.

I'm now running with Catalyst 4.1 and the ATIOGL.DLL of Catalyst 4.3 in the FB-Folder with no problems. So it is no problem with OpenGL.

Has anyone encountered this problem with Catalyst 4.3?

Regards Joenes

PS: Any misspelling or funny grammatics are probably due to me being german.
