View Full Version : FW-190A8 fuel consumption

Is it me or is the FW-190A8 fuel-consumption bugged somehow?

The FW-190A4/A5/A6 use MUCH less fuel under approximately the same power settings during missions.

Right now the FW190A8 last about as long as Bf109G using combat/emergency power.

Problem is known and will be fixed.

High Ground is not only more agreeable and salubrious, but more convenient from a military point of view; low ground is not only damp and unhealthy, but also disadvantageous for fighting.

Any know what is with self-sealing fuel tanks in Fw190? When im hit and have fuel leak after short time fuel out even when i have 75% fuel. Fw190 had self-sealing fuel tanks or no? Beacuse in game for sure dont have it.

BTW Hyperion dont you know if high alt maximum speed of Spitfire MkIX will be fixed in future patch?

Did any found the same with fuel tanks in Fw190?

Yeah, you'll drop over 300l in less than 3 minutes through a 20mm hole http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/34.gif

Try emptying a Coke bottle within 0,6sec and you'll see that this is very far from realistic.

FWs are not the only planes that have this terribly high leak rate... P-47s and others are also empty in a matter of a few minutes.

Not to mention that most planes have more than one tank - but all of them go dry if just one is perforated...

I doubt here will be fixes for Spit Energie Modeling as you can see here .)

- check energy bleed, high altitude performance and overheat for Spitfire IX
models

Energy bleed there is OK

A-8, 9 & D9(early) = 655l

Already corrected to other values (in files of PF)

Hmm that is very strange beacuse our test and real data test of Spitfire MK IX show that these planes in FB are too fast at high alt about 30 km/h !!!!

For remember:

I made some test speed Spitfire MK IX in 2.04, Map Crimea, 100%fuel, max power. We have:

MK IX HF:
0km - 535 km/h
6km - 636 km/h
7 km - 671 km/h !!!
8km - 702 km/h !!!!!

MK IXe LF CW
0km - 536 km/h
6km - 648 km/h
7km - 676 km/h !!!

MK IX e
0km - 543 km/h
6km - 653 km/h
7km - 680 km/h !!!???
7.5km - 683 km/h !!!???
8km - 677 km/h ?????

Probalby in AEP we have Spitfire MK IX with Merlin 66 (+18). We see in data: http://www.fourthfightergroup.com/eagles/bs543.html

that these Spitfire had max speed:

Sea level - 336 mph / 540 km/h
22000ft (6.6km) - 407 mph / 655 km/h
30000ft (9km) - 395 mph / 635 km/h

If we have Spitfire MK IX with Merlin 70 should be:

Sea level - 329 mph / 529 km/h
27800ft (8.3km) - 415 mph / 668 km/h.

The best speed for Spitfire MK IX was 415 mph - 668km/h !!!!

So we clearly see that we have overmodelled Spits MK IX in high alt maxium speed.

There is only the talk about Energie keeping . I think high alt performance problem is known.

No thats current data. As you see that fixes will be done in PF not in FB AEP anymore.

High Ground is not only more agreeable and salubrious, but more convenient from a military point of view; low ground is not only damp and unhealthy, but also disadvantageous for fighting.
