I was speed checking on dslreports.com and in the results of other people (I had 1480/132) I saw people with around 384 upload speed. So I called Verizon and the said they have a new 384 kbps upload speed...YEY! That's much better than the measly 128 up we were advertised.
The did a pre-qualification check and ofcourse me already getting slightly higher than 128 and only 6000 feet from the Co. I qualified, unfortunatley she said only billing department which was closed can upgrade it.
The number she gave me was 1-866-268-4630 (no that's not her number) and choose option 2 when prompted. This will do wonders for hosting and p2p as 384kbps upload means 384/8-bits= 48k/sec theoretical (u prolly get around 40+).

P.S I had 768 and upgraded to 1500 download for free (took day or two I remember) I'm not sure about this time but I hope it is. Wow I wish someone has verizon or I wasted my time. And cable users in area with 256 capped uploads, we pay 30 bux for 6 months then its only 35 bux so there's something to consider, and no I do not work for Verizon monopoly dsl.

all the dsl companies across the country for the most part have upgraded dsl speed. my company sbc yahoo has upgraded from 1500 down load to 3000 down 384 up which i have.

and in some parts of the country you can now get 6000 down 4000 up. thats way better than T1 for a a fraction of T1 cost

Damnit you're lucky see verizon has a monopoly over the phone lines here and even if you can get dsl from another ocmpany they'll make it hard as hell and I heard verizon will find a way to cut your bandwith and screw you http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

....if you live in Keller,Texas you will soon have Fiber to the door provided by Verizon! I have several friends that are spending the next several months up there installing the cable(s) and from what they are saying it is supposed to be faster than anything currently available for home use anywhere (other than several places in Houston that I know of).
