So has anyone got the hang of using it ? It's pretty cool but I have yet to have much success with it .
Anyone have any tips for me ?

I've been playing with it. Instead of chasing the enemy around, I'm chasing the crosshairs http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

But if you keep ranges reasonable, keeping the site on the target almost guarantees hits. I like it.

Skychimp , do you use it on full gyro settings ?
Also , with this gunsight there is no need to lead the target . Right ? i.e. the gyro-sight leads it for you ?

You have to assign it to a key function first then toggle it.... toggle it. I have it set for auto for the time being so when I toggle it it goes norm sight>norm/K14 sight/K14 sight/norm sight.. I have it mapped to the shift/num5 keys so I can access it from my sticks... (Shift black button mode3 on X45...num 5 6o'clock position of MS hat sw)

Also, you have to fly the right Mustang. One D model has the N9, the other has the K14. Should be the dash 20 model. I've been using the K14 in fixed mode, I'll have to play with my X45 profiles to access the sight controls. Should be fun

I like it.If your too far away from the target, you have to lead, but not as much.

Brasil66,the k14 sight needs a button/key assignment. Its listed as toggle sight mode(auto). When you press this button/key in game, the new sight will appear over the fixed sight.Press it second time and its K14 sight only.

Simple and easy way of using the K-14.

Set convergance to 300 o nthe P-80 or P-51 D-25. Turn on gunsight. Fire when the enemy is in the crosshairs between 200 and 300M (.20 and .30) and you WILL hit. No need to set anything up. It works well, VERY well. I can pop engines off a Me-262 or pilots out of FW-190's.

I think I read that the accuracy of wartime gunnery went up by 50% when they introduced the gyro gunsight. British planes had them too. I do believe it was in fact a British development which was passed on to the USA.

Working real well for me, I set it up on the ground before taking off. Like both displays up, use the gyro as my guide for lead in the sight. I like to set it half the size of the circle, than dial in my wingspan. Can set batmans engine on fire in a snap from pretty far out. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/59.gif

Would someone make a track using the K-14 sight. I want to see if i'm using it right. Make one shooting down a few planes from different angles.

I just tried it out, and Gibbage, you are right. I wish I had this on the P-38. Awesome!

I did some tests and noticed the minimum range setting (which is set if you don't change a thing) fits 200m range. It works quite well up to 300m though. Just switch the plane's wingspan. Not that you attack a Ju-88 with Bf-109 setting http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. For high range sniping, just the highes range setting is enough. It's approx 800m. But beware: less puch and serious spreading, hehe.

Yes, but unlike radar (the Germans) or
TV (the French) in this case we really DID
invent what became the K-14!

Perhaps if you add a 'please' someone may do so.

Zikky,

I've helped a lot without them asking me please. Were you going to make a track, but changed your mind because I didn'y say please, or are you just being a troll?

I'm just as interested as you in seeing the K-14 in use,but lack of p's and q's happens to be a pet hate of mine.
Despite you helping folks, still don't hurt to add a please.
I'm sorry about my last comment though-that was outta line.
