I wonder if there is a way we could add some ground effects like explosions, tank fire, more visible dust cloud from tanks e.t.c.Also if we could get larger tank groups;in my last mission 8 109s had to bomb 4 tanks.I think that it will liven up the enviroment a lot.

In fact there are some ground effects. Sometimes I can see some ground firefights raging, mainly tank battles...they´re specially interesting when inside a city, as then you may see houses blowing off and all that stuff...very very nice...
And the convoys? All the people running off them when they are attacked? Also quite nice!

I would like to see them more often and in a larger scale.

There's more ground battle in original IL-2Sturmovik than FB. And it's very spectacular!! Recently I reinstalled the original and I never want to remove from my HDD again. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

In the original IL-2, if you look at the big first track in the set, you can see howitzers firing away, trucks blowing up, and cars driving around. Very cool.

Indeed! IL-2 was FAR better than FB in terms of the ground action. It seems a shame that we need to go back to IL-2 to get that.

I'd never join a club that would have ME as a member!!.

Is a huge ground action that important in a flight sim? As for myself, I think AAA "ground action" against me is already too "furious"

I'm not reffering to AAA.I want ground action that has nothing to do with your flying. It's a shame that they didn't keep Il-2's ground action to FB.Does anybody have a clue whether or nor we'll see it in the future?

You can write your own missions in the FMB (full mission builder) with as much ground action as you please. A great guide to it is here:
http://www.il2center.com/technika/builder02.htm

There are several third-party mission designers who make their own missions and campaigns. There may well be some ground-attack campaigns that have tons of ground action. Check out some Sturmovik and Stuka campaigns perhaps.

Mike

I think much of the difference is that the original IL-2 relied on scripted missions, and therefore the larger ground battles were written into the scenario. FB can fly scripted missions also, so hopefully we'll see more missions created by enthusiasts that incorporate the large ground actions. The FB dynamic campaign system may not be designed to generate missions that are so complex in the ground object detailing.

I'd look into the custom FB missions at "IL-2 Hangar" to see if Eric has the type of scenarios you're looking for.

Oh

THAT kinna ground effects!

LOL

I was in a totally different area there.

Say, if you want good "ground effects"

play "Combat Mission, Barbarosa to Berlin"

Lots of cool stuff there.
