Thnx to BSS_Goat, and BSS_Absolute, the carrier pattern training mission is now available and ready for download from our site. There is a picture of the pattern super-imposed on the scenery with a senerio of a three plane formation depicted in the carrier brake pattern down to the landing pattern .
All the ground reference markings (bonfires) are based on the lead aircraft braking at the bow of the carrier to help trainees gauge their position correctly in the landing pattern.
Bonfires are also depicted on the runway to show the positions of 4 arresting wires(6 actually exisited). Buildings are on each side of the runway to re-enforce line-up techniques and simulate the length of the carrier. Smoke-stacks are to the right to depict an island superstructure, and a bridge is just forward of the arresting area to re-enforce staying on glidepath.

Any questions about carrier ops in reguards to this mission and the Blacksheep Carrier/Formation Flight guide are welcome here, and in our Sheeps Pen forum where the mission is posted. Post it on your own website if you wish.
The P-51 is a snap to fly around the pattern if you want to get use to it first. The P-47 is what I'm expecting the FM be like for the Corsair low and slow. It's a significant challege to keep it within the parameters of the pattern.

This mission is set up as a Dogfight mission so others may fly on-line and work on formation flying, pattern work, and interval separation.

Enjoy
